a fairly tall girl with short hair and glasses is leaning against a wall in her gym uniform, just idly bouncing a basketball*
Rikki clumsilily bumps into a girl dribbling a basketball. She drops her melonpan. "ugh. Sorry" she says to the girl
The girl promptly stops bouncing the ball and puts it under her arm, bending over to pick up the melonpan and hand it to her senpai. "No, I'm sorry. Are you still okay to eat this?"
She makes a disgusted look and puts her palm up. "Uh, no. Thank you, I don't want to eat it anymore." She says as she smiles.
She grins. "No five second rule for you? Alright~" wiping the melonpan with her hand and taking a bite, she asks, "I've seen you with Ayumi, are you two friends~?"
"Ah, Ayumi Taki? mmm~ I guess you can say we're friends." She says as she looks at the younger girl eat the dropped bread. Why would anyone...
The girl finishes the bread quickly, and leans back against the wall, spinning the basketball on her finger.
"I see~ I just wondered, is all"
Rikki stares at how the girl spins the ball on atop her finger. "Wow, that's pretty impressive!" She says as she stares at the spinning ball
She grins. "You think? It's not so hard, really, but thank you."
"It is! I tried it a few times, I couldn't even get it to stand...though I do understand the principles of physics around it, I just can't do it..."
"I've been practicing since I was a kid so..." The girl suddenly appears to have a flash of realisation, and she bows respectfully. "It's an honour to recieve praise from a senior."
"A-ah? Really? I'm your senior?" She then notices the color of the girl's skirt was different. "Oh, your color is different...oh. I see. Sorry I'm not really familiar with the scheming. Too much of a hassle for me to remember. But that's cool. You must really like playing basketball...?"
"I'm in the middle school division, second year." She gives a lopsided smile, then bows again. "Taki Haruka. Middle school basketball team captain."
"Ah! You're related to Hagi and Ayumi! Nice to meet you~" She says as she extends her hand. "whyarethesepeoplesotall" she mumbles in German.
Haruka shakes her hand readily, delighted to be spoken to so nicely by an older student. "So you know my brother, too? That's cool~"
"Yup! He's friends with my fiancee so I really have to know him! He's really...um adorable." She says as she laughs a little
"I'm way manlier than Haginosuke is~" she laughs, flexing her arm.
"Seems so!" She says as she giggles. "Say, don't you have class?"
"We have gym right now~ but a girl fainted and the teacher took her to the nurse. She hasn't come back, so everybody's in the gym being bored." Haruka bounces the ball again. "What about you, senpai?"
"I see. Oh, I'm skipping class. I don't like Japanese History."
She says as she fixes her hair
She laughs. "Oh gosh, won't you get into trouble? I won't tell, though."
"You can tell the police, I don't really care~ Nope. They all know I'm waaaaaay more qualified to teach than they are." She says with a wide smile. "I wish my gym class had girls fainting. I'm really bad at sports"
"everyone's got their talents~" Haruka starts spinning the wall, looking at it with a peaceful expression on her face. "Not everyone has to be good at sports, right? I'm more jealous of really pretty people, like you, senpai."
Rikki laughs "I'm not that pretty...well I guess I am but! People like it better when you're good at everything!"
"I'm not good at everything, but I guess I've settled into sports well..." she sighs and wriggles so the ball moves up her arm, around the back of her neck, and she catches it in the other hand. "I can talk to boys way easier because we have common ground, but I get stuck in the frind zone, you know? I'd much rather be pretty."
Rikki watches in amazement. She really wishes she had such nice hand and eye coordination when it came to physical things...
She smiles and looks at the girl "At least you have friends~ when I was your age...people were looking down on me. Mostly because they were tall but, really."
Haruka pouts, tilting her head to the side in thought. "I don't see why that should be. You seem very very nice."
"I was in college when I was 12, so...people there were really very...ah! Enough about me. I must be boring you."
She shakes her head, eyes sparkling in admiration behind her glasses. "Not at all, senpai, that's amazing!"
She is about to ask the older girl to tell her more, but she glances the teacher in the distance. "Oh, that's my gym teacher. She's kind of strict so if you don't want to get into trouble, you should hurry. Hopefully we'll talk again soon!"
"Okay. See you around, Haruka!" She says as she waves and walks away.
With a grin on her face, Haruka hurries over to her teacher and asks about the girl in the infirmary, before heading back to her gym class with the teacher.
