It's ~~fucking~~ bloody appalling, the kinds of things that get put before the Wizengamot these days. It makes me worry, really makes me worry that people would actually draft up bills like this, that would so blatantly defy the basic human rights of any group. That enough people would think it's okay that it would come before us to be taken seriously. Even moreso, that there would be so many people in the Wizengamot interested in seeing it pass through to law.

Anyone who would say that it's all just for the safety of the people is a downright liar. This is ridiculous, we aren't in the stone age anymore.

Well. That's just fucking ridiculous. I don't understand why the Minister would put a bill like that forward, and even less why ANYONE would even entertain the idea of intentionally hurting the people that they're supposedly representing. On what grounds do they assume that muggleborns or halfbloods need to be restricted, anyway?

The Minister can't do this alone--that's why we're here in the Wizengamot, to provide checks and balances so that things like this won't happen. The only problem is that in recent times there's become a very frightening imbalance between seat holders who are interested in Muggle rights, and seat holders who are more---traditional in their beliefs.

People are saying things, Miss. I am saying things, the few of my like-minded colleagues are saying things. The problem is that the government has a very difficult time listening.
