Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
It's been a while, but I've finally returned home for good. When Alecto told me we were heading out for supplies, I wasn't expecting her to drag me out of the bloody country. It turned into something of an expedition, hopping from one city to the next.

It was a nice change, not being tied down to one place. Unfortunately everything had to come to an end, and here we are, back in Knockturn Alley.

I'm learning that the longer you're out of work, the harder it is to get back into the swing of things. It's coming back to me, why we got away from all of this for as long as we did. I'll miss the days of not having to deal with customers who demand things we don't have in supply, or items we've never carried. Of course me telling them to fuck off isn't good for business, so I'm forced to bite my tongue.

The rest of you are free game though, so proceed with caution.

Pleasant as always, Amycus.

But of course.

Some things just don't change.

I think I would die of shock if they did.

Speaking of which, glad to see that you aren't dead and buried in some remote country. I was worried your sister grew tired of your company on this trip of yours and left you in a volcano.

Your concern, it moves me.

Aside from you still being a wanker (don't ever change), anything I need to be caught up on around here?

That depends, when did you leave again?

I don't remember you being around for my wedding, that's for sure.

I'm sorry, did you say wedding?

Fuck, if I had known you were tying the knot, I would have come home to see the catastrophe with my own eyes.

I imagine the little lady has to be as batshit crazy as you are, to be able to put up with your shit.

Your faith in me is outstanding. And you wonder why I like your sister better.

Crazy enough to fake her and our daughter's kidnapping to run away, all the while framing me.

I just don't understand, am I that horrible to be around?

Because of her charming personality, I'm sure.

You're a bundle of sunshine, Chester.

[Chester]

Do I even need to ask whether or not you're actually being framed?

I didn't even know you had another kid. I've been gone longer than I thought.

I should be insulted by the insinuation. I'm distraught over this, Amy.

Perhaps you should stop following Alecto's every whim, then you wouldn't miss so much.

My most sincere apologies. Since you so enjoy my sisters company, I'm sure she would be more than willing to offer you a shoulder to cry on...or more realistically she'll stab you in the thigh with a quill to help distract you from all of this emotional anguish.

Never a dull moment.

I don't know what I'd do without her for that long. Perhaps you have a point. But, I'm here now, for whatever that's worth.

A hard day's work is a blessing, brother. Apparently I have kept you away too long, and now your head has gone soft.

I'll be sure to not repeat the mistake.

Can you really blame me, for enjoying time away from the monotonous, mundane tasks we perform each day at the apothecary?

Whether it be a blessing or a curse, I understand it's a necessity.

Still, you can't deny you had at least a little fun while we were away.

I had plenty of fun. What I am saying is that fun was not the point.

We were gathering supplies. I did not lie.

Does it really matter, whether that was the point or not?

We got everything we needed, and had a good time doing it - I'm looking at this as a win-win situation for the both of us.

I suppose if you wish to look at it in such a manner, I can do little to persuade you otherwise.

That does not mean, however, that I will tolerate anything less than pristine work now that we've returned.
