Test Scene
Gwen walked into her SoHo penthouse and put down her briefcase. It was late, and she had yet to do her rounds. She took off her Manolos and sighed, knowing that she still had to report in.

She picked up her phone and dialed her current employer's number.

"I got them out on bail and it's definitely going to cost you. Your longshoremen being caught cold at the scene is a problem, but that's better than say, that Punisher-whacko, catching them." Gwen says.

"I'm certain I can get the charges dropped based on circumstantial evidence and entrapment. One of your man says someone's been following him around all week. Thinks it was the cops." she says.

"How do you want to handle this?" she asks.

"Do what you can to get them off on the charges," Carolyn says on the phone her annoyance blatantly obvious, "They can pay me back for the cost with some riskier jobs."

Carolyn lets out a sigh before continuing. "I'm starting to think me might want to just let them charge a couple of them to teach the others to act smarter and do Darwin a little favor. Besides it might be nice to throw the police and media a bone so that they actually think they act against me."

"Don't worry about the crusader, his quest of vengeance will be ending soon enough," Carolyn says. She definitely had plans to deal with him but for now she was keeping that close to her chest carefully setting and baiting her trap.

"We should talk to some of our police contacts to see if someone was following them around on that end," Carolyn says, "If you like feel free to use creative interrogation to get the truth. I'm going to put out some feelers and see if we have a new player in our little game as well." Due to her own rise to power she liked to know who all the players were including the small ones.

"I can talk to Officer Poletti. He's sweet on me and usually ends up saying more than he wants to after he's got a few drinks in him." Gwen offers, removing her hose. She removed the pin holding her hair in place and shook it loose, untangling it with her fingers.

"Meanwhile, Asher O'Fallon's been offering me double what you're paying to come work for him. I told him I'd think about it and now I'm calling you.

But I have to admit, I like this whole 'defending super-crooks' thing, Boss. It's lucrative and kind of fun. Not sure I could go back to two-bit crooks full time. Sometimes, but not full time." she says.

"That's a start I'll have Pink Lotus and her men look into stuff too. She's been antsy for some action for a while and I would prefer her not using that sword of hers on one of my men. And don't worry she knows how to be discreet."

"You would not believe the amount he threw at Roland to join him," Carolyn says, "I had to raise his pay and his weapons budget."

"I'm sure I could give you a raise if you need it too if you need it though," she says, "But I would remind you about the amount of freedom I do offer you and the benefits and perks of working for me that I'm sure our little leprechaun friend won't give you."

"I'm glad to here you like that. I must confess I like that you do that as well and it is definitely very lucrative for you."

"The money is good, Boss. I don't mind making more, but I'll earn it. Besides, O'Fallon thinks that accent of his is his ticket to bedding any woman he lays his eyes on. I like making him feel stupid at least twice a day." Gwen snickers.

"Speaking of freedom and perks...do I have your permission to deal with a group of gang-bangers called the Poison Memories? They were the ones who knocked off one of your weapons shipments last month. I haven't figured out who they're working for, but I think it's someone just as well-connected as you.

I'll handle them if you give the word, though I might need one of your big hitters to watch my back while I get him to sing for us, Red." Gwen says.

"Still he's useful to me for now so we let him think he's the smart one who's in control," She says, "And when he proves to be more of a liability than asset."

"Go for it," she says, "They deserve what they have coming to them. I'll have some of my people look into it as well and if we shake them a little we might get to see more what this."

"Have you any thoughts for who you might like as back up," Carolyn asks.

"Someone big and tough, but can take direction, Boss. And someone who can soak up a bullet or eighty. Whoever you think is best should work." Gwen says.

"I'll hit them in three nights' time and then they won't be an issue anymore. I'll bring you the information I get ASAP." she says.

Gwen focuses for a moment and changes, readying herself for the rest of the night.

"Sutherland could prove useful to you with his armor though he's not the most stealthful but he knows his tech. Jackson's should be tough enough for you. He almost overwhelmed Roland in a fight using his powers. The rhino's are all tough enough for it even if they aren't that bright but they can follow orders well enough."

Carolyn liked giving people options to see what they might do.

"Also if possible bring one of them back of us to interrogate. I would like for the Profiler to get a chance to see what he can find out from them," She says. He might be the only person she actually worried about even if she owned him. His powers made him a scary opponent. Nothing ever remained hidden from his eyes. Made one of her toughest men break into tears mentioning his childhood dog.

"Got it, Boss. One of the Rhino's will do for shock and awe. They won't know what the hell hit them so they won't expect someone like me." Gwen tells her. "You want a someone to talk to, I'll bring him in." she says. "Anything else you need while I'm out?" she asks, slipping on her mask. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"Very well I'll send Hayden to meet with you in three days at one of the usual spots," Carolyn says. "Do what you can," She says, "Might even be a bonus in there for you." "Control of the western hemisphere would be nice but I can wait for that." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"When you get the Western Hemisphere, I want control of all the Prada stores on the East Coast. That's all I'll ask for in addition to being appointed head of the Justice Department." Gwen smirks over the line.

"If you need anything else, let me know." she says, ending the call.

Then she pulls on her suit (she wouldn't call it a cat-suit, no matter what) and heads for her skylight.

Night is calling. Time to play.

"Sounds fair to me," Carolyn says, "Want a personal Italian dress maker too?" "Don't worry I will," She says. She had big plans for tonight and eye candy to pick out. (Reply to this)(Parent)
