Meanwhile, Narcissa was extremely annoyed.
She hated living in the Black Manor. Really, she did. It wasn't that she didn't like the manor -- she did. And she loved her sisters. She loved her parents. She even loved that bloody House Elf. The fact was, though, that she was home for the holidays. She hadn't seen Lucius since her last Hogsmeade trip, which was ages ago. She was agitated all the time, simply because she couldn't see him except for the occasional Floo conversation -- which wasn't often. In fact, Narcissa was pretty sure that she hadn't seen him in over a month, and that was just terrible. It was pretty understandable that she was in a bad mood, even when she said her greetings to the rest of her family, who had been waiting her arrival with great anticipation.
Narcissa hadn't slept well the night before, knowing that she'd be able to see Lucius again for the first time in such a long time. She got ready very quickly that morning (stopping only to check and recheck her hair) and Floo-ed to Lucius's room without saying goodbye to her family.
She arrived five minutes late, even though she had gotten ready as quick as she could -- but a girl had to look presentable all the time. Stepping out of the fire, she sighed in relief when she caught sight of him. Even just seeing him made her feel better.
