Gah. Went to bed at around midnight, woke up at 5 am, can't get back to sleep.

I just sneezed at the exact same time as Circe, weird.

I have a desperate craving for a pastrami sandwich. According to the Cap Metro update I got yesterday, the routes that are running are supposed to be running on a regular Saturday schedule between 6 am and 7:30 pm. Concievably I could go to Katz's now and get one, but they're way overpriced and usually disappointing. I do need to get to Walgreens, so it wouldn't be impossible for me to go do that and then go to Hancock Plaza and get a pastrami sandwich at Jason's and/or the makings at the good HEB, but that's an awful lot of bussing on a Saturday schedule. It'd take forever and I don't think I'm up to it. Bleah.

Ordered a pair of sneakers from Amazon. A little young for me, maybe, but I think they're cute, and they're pretty cheap. I ordered a flash drive along with them so I could bet free shipping, it came out almost exactly.

I was able to get some snapshots of Zoe and Romana (two of my hermit crabs) the other night. If they turn out well when I get the roll developed I will of course post them.

Two days of erranding!

The desire for a pastrami sandwich and a need to pick up meds didn't drive me out of the house, but when I sold off another bottle of BPAL, that tipped it. So I went off to accomplish these things. Once more I left Katz's determined not to go back; the sandwich was tasty enough, but way overpriced, and the fries were crappy. The pomegranate lemonade was kind of neat, though. I cringed when they seated a family with a little kid (maybe 2?) next to me, but the kid was pretty well-behaved so that was ok. The stop at the post office was uneventful.

Then it was pharmacy time. And, yep, they would not refill the Lamictal, Risperdal, and Lithium... but they said they could refill them tomorrow. So hopefully I'll stop there tomorrow with [info]jennywho. I also got a package of 30 sponges, for wiping out the tub after baths. Buying cleaning supplies makes me feel like I am playing at being a grown-up.

The big news of the day, however, happened on the bus ride back downtown. I got flirted with! By a fairly nice-looking guy (not the type I tend to go for, which is tall and skinny with long hair and glasses, but a nice example of the muscular type), in an un-skeezy way. He asked for my phone number, and I gave it to him! Hell, why not? He seemed like a bit of a player, but I'm not interested in anything beyond casual dating anyway, so that's okay. It's been so very, very long since someone said I was beautiful. It felt nice to be considered desireable. I don't really have any interest in dealing with being "in love", but companionship and sex are good things. Although since it's a guy, that means I'd need to worry about birth control. Maybe when I am at Walgreens I should pick up some condoms and some foam or something just in case.

Er, sorry for the TMI.

But, that's how my Saturday erranding went.

Scary stuff. I think I have a hernia or something. There's a weird bulge in my navel. I've been ignoring it for a while, kind of like I did with my gallbladder attacks. Yes, I know that's stupid. But that's why I was asking my caseworker about how to find a doctor to go to. She wasn't helpful but I found a clinic that should work. Now I need to get up the nerve to call, which is easier said than done. Oh well.
