I hope everyone is having a good one.
I am pissed off at the Post Office. First I get a priority mail package 12 days after it was mailed, and now an opened, empty envelope! And when I went to the Post Office to mail a package this afternoon, they'd closed at noon, leaving me to stew in a line of people who had no idea how to use the automated kiosk.
The good for today: Magenta was out and about! When I came close, she darted back into her shell, but it was nice to see some crabby activity. Delirium hasn't moved since I noticed the molt and I am not sure if I should worry.
I wish I could summon up some actual plot for the L/A I have simmering in my brain. It'd be nice to spend New Year's Eve writing. |

So much for the post office, I'm feeling sorta queasy. Not as bad as last night (nothing spices up a first date like excusing yourself to vomit!) but enough that I don't want to get on a bus. Suck and suck, I hope I don't have a stomach bug. I'm sucking on some ginger candy to try and settle my stomach. |

Talked with the complex manager last night; I got a "please come see me tomorrow before noon" yesterday afternoon. I think she has heard from the Advocacy Inc lawyer; she was polite, and when I showed her the card from HAND, she said she'd call them and schedule my next inspection for the day after I've had someone in.
According to the UPS website, I'll have my Eee on Friday. So not by New Year's as I'd hoped, but still delightfully soon. I can't wait!
I'm sleepy but I'm hungry too. Thus I am making something to eat, and perhaps I will sleep more once I have eaten.
acidrica, if I feel up to it I'll go to the PO later today. |

Got plans this afternoon, with A. and T. I met A. at D. & N.'s party, and T. is her Daddy (not in the blood relatives sense). Meal, movie, and? We shall see. Clothing: my HolyClothing black blouse and skirt. The skirt is way too long for me, I've rolled up the waistband so it doesn't drag on the floor, LOL. Scent: BPAL's Tell-Tale Heart. Glasses: after some deliberation, the black wire rims. They were gonna pick me up at 2, but I just got a call from A. saying they're running late and will call when they leave. So, even more nerve-jittery, ha. |

Just got an email from Amazon; the Eee and the copy of Eee For Dummies has shipped! UPS tracking doesn't have a delivery date yet but I know it will be soon and I am excited! I think I am going to call it Kusuri-uri, because it is small (seriously, Kusu wears those high-ass geta and is still barely the height of most of the people around him! He's a pocket exorcist!) and made for travel.
Also, I loaded up a USB drive with 4G of stuff to load onto it when it gets here. In this order, this is what I loaded it with:
Trillian Firefox Winamp a big folder of (mostly anime-related) porn (another reason why calling it Kusuri-uri would be apt, LOL) the fansub of the second Death Note movie a bunch of MP3s
I'm such a dork. |

doombuggie was an angel and took me to Eyemasters. Well, first he took me to lunch! We were going to go to Fiddler's Hearth for fish & chips, but they weren't open, so then we headed to a burger place called Mighty Fine, but they were packed, and then we went to Jason's Deli and they were Just Right. Also they had Boylan's soda in the fountain; cane sugar sweetened all the way! I was craving protein so I had a pastrami melt OM NOM NOM.
So then we went to Eyemasters. It was mad busy, we waited around for what seemed like ages. I picked out the frames I wanted; a black blastic sore of emo-kid looking pair, and a nondescript black wire rimmed pair. When a clerk finally got to me, I told him I wanted the 2 for $99 deal and he didn't try to upsell me at all. As busy as they were, though, the glasses wouldn't be ready for three hours, so we're going back tomorrow.
This is the first time I've gotten glasses that someone else wasn't holding the purse strings. Ok, I got the cheapies anyway, but it was entirely my call. Come tomorrow I will have a four pair wardrobe of glasses, and I am going to make myself only wear the shades when it is actually sunny. All you Austin folk, if you catch me wearing my shades at night, feel free to bitch me out. |

Happy Boxing Day, all!
Christmas Day was nicely finished off by a surprise visit from D. for some amiable low-key conversation (largely about piercing) and some backrubs (not *nudge nudge wink wink* "backrubs", actual backrubs, and it felt damn good). So it turned out to be a very social day! All that was missing was hanging out with doombuggie, who hopefully had just as lovely a day.
Even with my culinary extravagances of the past few days, my bank account is in acceptable shape. I'm debating a trip to HEB and/or Family Dollar, but I'm feeling awfully lazy, so I dunno if it'll happen. |

Got together with jennywho and kreibabe for a festive meal! We went to a teppanyaki/sushi place called Fujiyama. My wallet is pissed at me, but oh, what a meal! We each started off with a little sushi (I had a piece of salmon and a piece of eel). Then we did the teppanyaki thing. Always so much fun to watch! The chef hammed it up of course, and the food was amazingly yummy (I had hibachi scallops). It's far too expensive to be a regular thing of course, but that sort of restaurant is a lot of fun with friends... oh! They gave jennywho and kreibabe drinks menus, but not me. No way on earth do I look underage, but it gave me a chuckle (and I wasn't planning on drinking anyway).
After that we went back to their place and watched The Triplets of Belleville and a couple of old Tales From The Darkside episodes. I also met their cats. The youngest, Oscar, was rather interested in my boots. Seeing as Hecate uses them as a scratching post more often than not, they probably smelled intruiging. It was nice hanging out with them, and nice meeting kreibabe.
But now is time to lounge and doze and watch Hogfather. And maybe have more cocoa. |

Later today, HOGFATHER will be watched. And hanging out with jennywho might happen. |
