I'm free right now...what's up? The book...

Ron and I had a pretty big fight against last night and now we're not even speaking to each other.

I know. Not speaking? What's going on...

I went to his dormitory last night to get my notes that he borrowed back. He wasn't there so I looked for them. He - there was this book that's rather incriminating and we fought about it. He said some really hurtful things and now we're just not speaking to each other.

What do you mean, a rather incriminating book? Like--cheating or something? I am so sorry to ask you this...

I probably shouldn't say since it could get him in trouble, especially with your mum, but since I don't really care at the moment, Fred and George sent him the Kama Sutra.

Oh for bloody hell--Hermione, I can't lie, this is stupid. I'm so sorry, but I overheard the whole thing: Harry and I went right up to his bed after the DA meeting to snog just be left alone for a bit, and--the fight happened so quickly, we were just stuck there. He wants to not say anything, to not embarrass you both, but--you're my best friend, I can't. I heard it all, and Ron's being a prat to end all prats, and I could kill the twins to boot.

You overheard the whole thing? I'm not mad, just - I'm sorry you had to hear everything that was said, but really, he was being so insensitive about everything. I wasn't even mad at him - I was more upset with myself for being caught with that book in my hands and thinking he was going to accuse me of snooping!

And the "your bloody house elves" part! What the feck was he thinking!

How did you find it? That part we didn't much get--I heard...paper rustling. That was about all I made out and then--it was fight night.

I thought he had at least became more sympathetic to their situation after last year and everything we had to go through.

Oh - there were some papers sticking out from under his bed and I thought he might have stuffed my notes there. Rather ridiculous of me now, I suppose. But they weren't my notes, just a bit of rubbish and the book was tucked under them.

He just got so defensive, he just got more and more aggressive...I mean, it clearly wasn't his fault that the twins are sex-obsessed wankers--though honestly, why didn't he pitch it all!--I don't understand why he had to blow it so far out of proportion.

Men.

No, of course it wasn't his fault that Fred and George sent it to him, but as you said, he should have had the sense to send it back to them if he wasn't interested in having it.

Exactly.

He's being a wanker. I'd smack him if I could, but--maybe Harry can talk some sense into him. I'd probably hex him half to death.

Which is what you should have done!

Hexing him wouldn't have been the sensible thing to do. Besides, I'm Head Girl - if any of the students found out, that would be rather hypocritical of me, wouldn't it? He might have deserved it, but I chucked the book at him at least.

Who cares about sensible, he deserved it! Sod Head Girl, every female in the school would have applauded. It's happened to all of us, our boyfriends being ridiculous and blowing shite so far out of proportion, it can be seen from space.

That's not the point. You know as well as I what would happen if I hexed him, Ginny. We definitely wouldn't speak to each other for awhile afterwards.

I know, but it would have bloody served him right! A little hex puts a prat in line--do you see Zacharias Smith toeing too far out of line with me? Or any of my little victims? Everyone gets very conciliatory. And fearful. I enjoy the fear.

Though...Ron would probably cry foul and whinge that he didn't deseeeerve it. May I say again: males.

What do you think you want to do now? Talk to him...?

I'd rather not have us not talking like we did sixth year. Not after everything.

As for what I'm going to do, I don't know. Though, I do know for certain that he should apologise for several of the remarks he made.

No, that makes perfect sense. You've come a long way since then, the two of you.

Several? How about "almost all?" It's just a question of breaking through Ron's obstinance.

Or so I thought anyway. It seems that with this latest argument, we've gone several paces back than where we were.

Yes, but you know as well as I do that that's much easier said than done.

Well, with guys, it's always a constant struggle against their inherent male stupidity. Especially a Weasley male, there is a vein of stubbornness that increases the difficulty tenfold...

Sing it, sister. Maybe...Harry can talk to Ron? Harry thinks Ron took it way too far, too, maybe he could be an ally here to make it so that you both can talk rationally again?

Believe me, I'm all too familiar with how much more stubborn he is compared to other males. It's so frustrating.

I don't want to put Harry in the middle of things; it wouldn't be fair on him to ask that of him. Ron and I will work it out eventually.

Well, if you two aren't speaking, he is in the middle of it. Isn't that always how it is with you three? When two fight, one gets put in the middle? It wouldn't be much more to have Harry give him a chat up about it, especially if Ron brings it up.

We don't intentionally put him in the middle, Ginny, and we wouldn't exclude him as a result. But really, Ron and I will work it out. Harry doesn't have to talk to Ron unless he really wants to.

Part of me thinks it would be good for Harry to focus on something so normal as his best mates fighting.

The bigger part of me thinks he would hide in it, and--that's exactly what he doesn't need.

Anyway. I just hope it all gets resolved and fast--I don't want you to be unhappy...or Ron either, but...you know.

Oh Mione...you know, how he's obsessing over Quidditch and the DA...I don't know what he's doing--if he thinks that throwing himself into these things will show how normal he is...or if he has to fill his head...I don't know. I think he welcomes any distraction he's given. He had the worst nightmares these past nights, I ju
