The past summer had been just the same as any for Ginny. If you don't count the funerals and mourning that went on. Almost all of the days were spent around the Burrow. Most were happy and spent outside in the sun which caused the dark freckles on her cheeks and her hair to be as red as ever. Other days were more difficult, being reminded of the war and Fred, but it also made her thankful to be surrounded by her family.

While she wouldn't have wanted to spend the summer anywhere else, Ginny was anxious to get back to school and see how things have changed. Finding the perfect moment, she slipped away from her parents and wandered around the platform alone. Her eyes scanned the faces around her hoping to find Luna or Neville whom she hadn't spoken to in a while.

Instead she turned and saw she was standing a few feet away from an old friend. Her appearance might have been different but Ginny would have recognized Hermione anywhere.

"I half expected you not to show up," she said loud enough for Hermione to hear.
