http://www.scribbld.net/users/backatya/Physical description (face, build, weight): Calvin stands at six feet tall and weighs around 169lbs. He’s got short red hair he keeps in a cut. His eyes are a deep brown color.. He’s got strong, masculine features and he’s got a very muscled build, sculpted like a statue. Broad shouldered and tall too. He tends to gravitate towards athletic clothes when in civilian mode.

Abilities:
-Enhanced Strength: Calvin’s able to lift and press about 4 tons under optimum circumstances. If he pushes himself he can get up to 5 but that would be his limit.
-Enhanced Speed: Calvin’s speed is comparable to an Olympic level athlete who engages in regular exercise.
-Enhanced Durability: Calvin’s durability is comparable to Spider-Man’s when he was just starting his career.
-Enhanced Healing: While he doesn’t regenerate as fast as someone like Wolverine, Calvin heals faster than a normal person. He can recover from severe injuries like broken bones and large area tissue damage in matters of hours. He’s got 20/20 vision and is highly resistant to toxins and sicknesses.
-Kinetic Energy Absorbing: Calvin has the ability to absorb the kinetic energy of things directed against him. Punches, bullets, even tossed bodies and concussive energy blastsd. He can absorb the energy and metabolize it into himself. This renders him immune to the damage caused by these things.
-Kinetic Energy Discharge: Calvin can release the stored kinetic energy in bursts. This can be done to increase the forces of his punches and kicks (up to about 10 tons), travel long distances via ‘bouncing’, or even protect him from harm by releasing it in a sort of aura. He can’t fire anything more than about a foot away from himself though.
-Heat Immunity: Calvin is simply immune to damage caused by heat and fire. He could stand by flowing magma and not even sweat. He’ll still suffer secondary damages but the heat itself is ignored.
Calvin’s a naturally skilled singer and dancer.
Weaknesses and flaws:
Blades: While Calvin is able to sap the kinetic energy of a blade attack, he’s not immune to being cut. Unless he’s using up kinetic energy to make an aura shield, he’s got no special defenses against knives, swords, and the like.
Glory Seeker: Calvin truly does want to help people, be a hero, and do the right thing. The only problem is that he wants the fame and glory that comes with it. He’s prone to doing things that are overly flashy, showboating, and tends to not shy away from signing autographs or taking pictures with fans.
Overload: Calvin can only absorb so much kinetic energy. He’s got a limit. Once he reaches it, he can’t absorb any more and if he tries to it’ll result in the entire energy reserve being expanded in one blast that’ll leave Calvin drained and unable to absorb any energy for a short while. Leaves him vulnerable.
Darkforce Energy: Calvin’s powers simply don’t work against DarkForce-based attacks even if they are concussive in nature. Blasts and constructs will hurt him just like they would others.
Cold: Cold temperatures have a bit more of an effect on Calvin. He gets uncomfortable when the temps start falling sooner than most people. Getting him cold enough can also keep him from using his kinetic energy based powers as his body will be too busy diverting the energy to keeping him warm.

Backstory: Calvin’s the son of two young heroes that had a little too much to drink one night in college. Greg Willis aka Gravity and Angelica Jones aka Firestar had become friends while in college together. They didn’t team up together much for heroics but they were friends out of costume. When they went to a holiday party together, they were unaware the drinks were spiked with things a lot stronger than they believed.
It led to the both of them sleeping together. The next morning there was a bit of a freakout and an agreement to not bring it up again. Right up until they found out Angelica was pregnant. While the two of them agreed they just didn’t work as a couple and weren’t even going to try for that route as both were in other relationships at the time, Greg wasn’t going to abandon a child that was his.
Nine months later, a baby boy was born and named Calvin. He spent most of his time with Angelica and her family but occasionally lived with his father and his family. Growing up, Calvin was surrounded by other hero-kids and their heroic parents. His own powers, a result of the unusual accident that gave Greg his powers, manifested as a young child. He fell down a flight of stairs but was unharmed. A few tests revealed Calvin wasn’t a mutant but they couldn’t discover the source of his powers.
As he grew older, Calvin was drawn towards the heroic life. He wanted to be a hero and wanted to be well liked for it. He started making plans in secret and developed a costume. Eventually, the hero known as Rebound went out to start heroics. He tried to keep it quiet from his parents though. For half a year he kept the secret that he was Rebound…right up until both his parents showed up to save him when he got in over his head with a villain.
Calvin ended up grounded for awhile but eventually convinced his parents to let him continue on with his heroics even if they weren’t entirely fond of it. He’s back to heroing as Rebound again, looking to save the day and make sure that the cameras know it was him that did the saving.
How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: He’s going to show up on the streets as an independent hero.
What are you planning to do with this character?: I’m planning on having him try to make a name for himself as a hero, try to gain some fame and eventually learn from the mistakes.
What do you want to see happen with this character?: I hope that his glory seeking will cause some mistakes and get him into some trouble. I’m also hoping that he’ll eventually learn from those mistakes and try to be a better hero. It may also be nice if eventually, a couple independent heroes (or new ones or others) band together to possibly form a ‘New Warriors’ team.

“98...99...100!” Calvin grunted, hefting the weights back onto the rack and grinning. The red-head sits up and wipes the sweat from his forehead. The young man hops to his feet quickly and makes his way over to the mirror in his room. Casting his shirt aside, he flexes a few times and examines himself in the mirror.
“Oh yeah. I look good.” he says. “Gonna look great when I stretch a costume over these abs,” he seems quite pleased with this. Quickly heading over to his closet, he pulls out the costume he’s been hiding back there and looks it over. “Definitely gonna be my time to shine out there,” he declares.
“Calvin! Let’s go or we’ll be late to see your father!” comes a voice from outside his room Calvin jumps. “One sec!” he calls back.
