Checking In
He had to admit, the leave wasn't nearly as bad as he thought it would be. He didn't go mountain climbing like Val suggested, but he did take time to do some things he hadn't had a chance to do in a long while, and it had been good for him. So he decided to say thanks by dropping by for an unofficial visit. He knocked on her office door.

"Are you in, Doctor?" He would have called her by name, but that wouldn't have looked good in front of passing recruits.

	He hadn't realized the informal slip until after it came out. Should he apologize? No, don't make it a big deal out of it. "No, not back just yet, but I thought I'd check in. For years I used to dream about Slorenia and that monster, Bloodwraith striding the landscape like some kind of demonic god, but now..I see the Helicarrier going down.
