People's sense of humor differ just as much as people do. I wouldn't bother trying to understand it.
I however would tell them that I didn't appreciate it and if it continued the best thing you can do is ignore them. That's is because if they continued even after you advise them to stop any further teasing is clearly only to get a negative reaction from you which will only entertain them more.
