Rosalind Cristabela
3 October 1953
24
English/Italian
Café owner/worker
Hazel-Blue
Brown
5’7"
Devon

Rosalind di Luca grew up with her grandmother in Bristol; her mother died in childbirth with Rosalind and her father is an ambassador to the Ministry of Magic from Italy and sent her to England as a show of good faith. She has lived with her grandmother since she was five years old and knows very little Italian despite speaking it for the first part of her life. Living in a muggle building, she'd had to learn English fast, but she understands the language when it's spoken to her. Her father is not a nice man, although he is rather harsh when it comes to practicality and moral values. He was never really home but Rosalind did what he expected of her, getting good grades and attending the high-society functions in his place whenever she could.

She attended Hogwarts over Beauxbatons, just because her mother had attended. Rosalind was of course a Gryffindor but did not share many of the same qualities as her loud and precocious housemates.Quiet and practical, she made it through school with proper grades and was even a prefect. Rosalind never really excelled in just one area of magic, but was reasonable overall. She would rather work with people though, than with any branch of magic. Rosalind enjoys talking to people and although she is rather reserved, diplomacy is something she's very strong in. She has been very much influenced by her strong willed grandmother, who never remarried after her newly wed husband was killed in the war with Grindlewald, despite many other offers.

Rosalind helps her grandmother in the small Italian cafe in Diagon Alley, although in the past few years she's taken on more responsibility, if only to avoid some of the requirements of her status as her father's daughter. She does not mind attending parties and social gatherings but she finds the womens' get-togethers terribly boring and tedious. She has her grandmother's sense of humor and sometimes it seems no one at those parties seems to get her at all. So she hides in the kitchen, baking up a storm and it usually works well, because Rosalind can deal with customers and talk to people (diners usually love to tell their life stories to strangers behind counters) and get her mind completely focused on something.

One of the 'requirements' from her father, was a good husband. Instead of a love match (well, it wasn't like she was dating anyone at the time), Rosalind was married off to one of the sons of her father's 'allies'. Things are a little tense and awkward, considering they'd only met a few days before the wedding and well, they've only been married a month and he isn't completely horrible (seriously, she could have had one of the others, yech). He's definitely a good match for her and even though they may not have the best relationship right now, Rosalind can see herself falling in love with him.

LIBRA
(September 23 - October 22)
the Scales of Justice. Cardinal, air, yang - planetary ruler: Venus. Keywords: "I BALANCE"

Libra is the seventh sign of the zodiac and governs the kidneys, lower back, and buttocks. Positive traits include a rational, logical mind, a fine sense of aesthetics, diplomatic aplomb, good taste, charm, skill with words, intelligence, an innate sense of fairness and justice, and exceptional beauty. Negative characteristics include indecisiveness, excessive dependence on other people, conformist tendencies, manic depression, extravagance, and manipulation.

Gryffindor

Gryffindor Libras will be a little bit more circumspect than other members of their House; the Gryffindor tendency to act first and think second will be moderated by the Libra tendency to weigh all options carefully before making a decision. Emphasized to an extreme will be the Gryffindor obsession with justice. Libras are the natural judges, lawyers, and police of the Zodiac, often more concerned with what is fair and just for all than what is merciful for the few. Expect a Gryffindor born under this sign to be an outspoken defender of underdogs, and to stand up for their beliefs more vociferously than the average Libra (Libras are usually too polite to say something that might risk offending other people). All Libras have the potential to become Aurors, because of the strong drive for justice, but the Gryffindor courage makes people of this sun sign who were sorted into this House more likely to become Aurors than people of other signs and Houses.

Donovan Wilhelm
23 March 1952

Irish/English
Astrologer
Brown
Brown
5’11”
Devon

Donovan Bletchley was the youngest of four. With three strapping, strong, and handsome brothers, he was always the odd one out whenever his family was in a social gathering. Each boy was loud and boisterous, arguing over who was the best and who could beat the other in whatever sport was on their mind that day. The shy, lanky bookworm was far from being anything like the others. His parents often found him strange – they thought his lack of spirit in competition was a sure sign of weakness and, from the moment he had picked up his first book, they lost a rather large amount of hope for him.

He attended Hogwarts like the rest of his family; however, he broke the mold when he was sorted into Ravenclaw rather than the Slytherin norm for the Bletchley family. His brothers teased him relentless for the hat’s choice and he found himself hiding even further in his books. His family’s ties caused him to be a bit shunned from the rest of his house and Donovan was thus considered a bit of a loner. His brothers acted like the rest of his family did; charming, ambitious, and fake. The behavior was so degrading in the eyes of the young boy that he chose from that point on to never be like them. His behavior instead could have come off as quite cruel; he was blunt, honest, and always to the point. The harsh words were usually the only ones that Donovan ever gave and thus the rest of the school the impression that he was nothing more than a complete dick.

Donovan found a love for astrology early on his school years and decided from that point on that he wanted to do nothing else with his life but study the skies. The Bletchley ambition shown through as he dedicated all of his time to his studies, eventually paying off soon after graduation when he was finally able to become an astrologer. His parents find this career to be degrading and don’t quite understand what he sees in it. His brothers all became “practical” things such as Ministry executives and one even became a famous Quidditch player. They felt that their youngest son was never going to fit in with the rest of society unless they took some drastic measures.

It was then he was told that he was to marry. Quite put off by the thought, he agreed to make his parents happy, and thus he was wed to Rosalind. While he’d like to say he is completely miserable in the marriage and nothing but cold to his wife, he finds that he is instead quite intrigued by her – even if he doesn’t make it known. As he tried to not be as harsh to her, it usually means that he doesn’t really speak to her, but such is the way of things. When he does, it’s usually only to ramble about work or some book that he’s read recently, and he’s not entirely sure that it entertains her. Despite it all, he finds that she most certainly has the potential to make quite a good wife… and possibly even make him fall in love.

ARIES
(March 21 - April 19)
The Ram. Cardinal, fire, yang - planetary ruler: Mars. Keywords: "I AM"

Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac and governs the head. Positive characteristics of Aries include courage, enthusiasm, idealism, charisma, quick wits, an ability to "think on one's feet," leadership potential, exuberant energy, zeal, and innocence. Negative traits include selfishness, tactlessness, egocentrism, an inability to save money, impetuousness, a hot temper, combativeness, oversensitivity, carelessness, and cruelty.

Ravenclaw

These Ravenclaws will have lightning-fast mental reflexes. Aries is an intellectual sign, but it is also an impatient sign; Ravenclaws who were born under this sign are likely to tolerate no dull wits or stupidity, whether they see this lack of mental competence in themselves (in which case they will berate themselves for not understanding, or give up quickly in frustration without really trying to overcome their difficulty in learning) or in others (in which case they will lash out at the offender with acidic comments and haughty, cutting looks). These Ravenclaws will want to be at the head of the class, dominating other students in their chosen intellectual field, and may be almost as competitive as Slytherins. However, the true aim of every Ravenclaw is knowledge, knowledge, and more knowledge. While a Slytherin might see losing a magical duel or being bested by another student in a DADA class as humiliating, the Ravenclaw will probably just take delight in competition for its own sake, and see defeat as a learning experience.
