Lifeforce has taken a seat on a bench. He's a little tired from healing all the heroes, all the pirates, and all the bystanders that had been hurt. Sure, he could get up and fight again but he's replenishing his energy instead of running himself down to empty.

Sensing Ava getting close, the healer smiles and nods. "Heya, Blue Lantern. Yeah. Everyone's good," he says. There's a pause. "What's wrong?"

"I'm not quite pleased with this situation." replies Avalon. He settles down next to Josh, and puts a hand on the other boy. "All will be well." he then says softly, before his hand gives Josh a squeeze.

Josh squeezes Ava's hand and frowns. "About having to let the captain go? That is kinda...annoying," he admits, scooting closer.

"More than that. The captain isn't what is bothering me. It is Alerron. And Katima." he then says softly.

The healer is welcomed closer to Avalon with an opening of his wings, but given that they are still in uniform, Avalon still holds himself quite formally next to Josh.

Josh winces a little, blushing furiously at the mention of Alerron.

"I think she knows him from before she came to Earth," he says softly. "I can't believe the guy kissed me," he murmurs.

"Obviously. But I do not like feeling as if her loyalties have changed. I'm sure that she has her reasons, but.. it does not sit well with me." replies the Naltorian.

"I am glad that you are okay.." he then says softly, his lips smiling a bit as he looks to Josh.

"I don't think they've changed," Lifeforce says. "I think she's just caught up with meeting an old friend," he says, looking up at Avalon.

"I'm fine, Ava. I heal, remember? I'm more worried about you."

Avalon just gives Josh a gentle smile. "Your body heals physically, but your mind is much more fragile. I worry about you often and protect you as much as I can." he then says softly.

Lifeforce isn't aware of just how potent his regenerative abilities are so he just blushes. "Thank you, Ava," he whispers, just happy to know he's cared for.

"You weather hardship well, but still.. you are so gentle that I tend to not wish to make you have to experience it." replies Avalon softly. Despite being in uniform, he reaches out and gently laces his fingers with Josh's, giving the other teen's hand a squeeze; if they had been alone, he might have done more.

Josh squeezes Ava's hand and nods. "I can say the same about you too, Ava," he says, still blushing. The whole concept of 'in uniform' is still new for him...especially considering that he's only wearing it for the first time today.

Avalon crinkles his nose a bit, his tone soft as he says "I have sacrificed much in my life to have the coping skills that I posses. I do not wish that upon you."

That said, he gently extracts his hand from Josh's - not because he doesn't want to hold hands, but because he should not - and then pulls himself to his feet. "You've done a good job today.. I'm proud of you." he says with a smile.

Josh smiles a little. "Don't worry, Ava. I've gone through enough," he says, shaking his head.

The healer frowns slightly as Ava gets up. "Aww...thanks. You did really well too," he says, blushing furiously again.

Ava just gives a shrug of his shoulders, his smile easy as he says "This is my job, this is what I do.. what I'm meant to do. What I'm good at. Today was your first time to go on a mission and you did a great job. You should be commended."

Josh gets up and leans in to give a quick kiss to Ava's cheek. "Thanks," he says. "We should get back to work then."

The kiss makes the Blue Lantern flush a bit, and he nods his head to Josh's words. "Yes. We should."

He looks about, scanning the sky for a flash of Green or Indigo before he then says "I hold close to my heart the hope that the winds of change that I sense blowing will be kind to us. Somehow, I doubt it."

Lifeforce sighs a little and closes his eyes to scan around. "Don't worry about it," he says with a smile. "We'll get through it."
