Hunter wasn't really used to a lot of snow, and she was in an exceptionally good mood because of it. Between hucking snowballs at other kids heads, to building an amazing fort earlier, she was feeling in especially high spirits even as the day went on. She was a bit chilled at points, but she just pulled her jacket closer and kept on.

After being pelted into submission by a group of third years who went to get back-up friends after she had been hitting them with snow first for twenty minutes, the tall blonde moved along and was skirting along the edge of the woods, her snow-ball gun still in her grip as she searched for familiar faces.

She really wanted to get Mack, but she wasn't sure that she had even come. This sort of school sanctioned brutality didn't really seem like her ginger's cup of tea, and Hunter suspected that now meant that it wasn't Mack's either.

Seeing an excellent secondary choice of target, Hunter grinned widely at the sight of Ace just up ahead, his back facing her just as planned. "Hey! Hey! Head's up, boss!" the blonde cried, lifting her plastic gun and shooting off two snowballs at the back of his head.

Ace was stationed near to the woods for tonight's carnival and he wasn't too happy about it. For one thing, there was snow and for another Ellie had insisted he join in on the stupid ugly sweater night. The golf vest he had found in the back of his closet was a soggy heap on the floor where he had chucked it once Ellie was gone.

With his coffee and his cigarettes he was at least contented, until Hunter made her apperance. At the sound of her calling he turned around, only to land a cold snowball to the back of his neck and another to the side of his head. "Hey! Knock it off" he shouted, unsuccessful in his effort to save his cigarette which had been dangling from his mouth. "Fuck! You're fucking lucky I'm not your boss yet or you'd be fired" he grumbled, closing in the distance between them.

"What the fuck is that anyway" he asked, taking the snowball gun and inspecting it with one eye closed as snow dripped into it. "They let you have these on campus?"

There was no shame in Hunter as she burst into loud laughter at the snowball colliding with the side of the man's head and promptly beginning to drip down. "Don't be such a nancy boy!" she warned him, grinning broadly and letting him take the gun for inspection once he was closer.

"It's like.. a launcher thingy, what's it look like?" she replied, raising her eyebrows at him as she clapped a hand heavily onto his shoulder. "I dunno, didn't ask, just bought it yesterday! I ain't hurtin' nobody.. there's some kids over there puttin' rocks in their snowballs an' throwing them at the chess club, if you wanna host a bust. Let's team up!"

"I'm not being a nancy boy!" he growled as he wiped snow from his face and hair. "I'm on duty, you should no better than sneak up on me like that I could have had you in a body bind." He kept on grumbling until a fresh cigarette was lit and he tossed one to Hunter.

Ace looked a little excited at the prospect of busting someone tonight but he quickly came back down to earth. "You're not even out of training yet, its against the rules."

"If ya were really on yer top game, you woulda heard me comin' from a mile away! It ain't like I was tryin' to be stealthy or anything!" Hunter informed him, clicking her tongue a bit as she just barely caught the cigarette and put it to her lips, leaning over and waiting for him to light her up.

"Rules were made for bendin'.. I'll be graduated in a couple months anyhow, and it ain't like I'm gonna learn that much before then that I don't know 'bout now! I won't tell anybody," she told him, batting her eyes a little. "Scout's honor an' shit. C'mon, lemme be your apprentice!"

"Its the snow" he protested, feeling foolish anyway. "It's muting every goddamn noise and you jabbering on aint exactly helping" he whispered, flicking his lighter and holding it up to her cigarette.

It wasn't that Hunter wasn't skilled. On the contrary, all the trainee aurors had been outstanding during the parking lot bomb, but if Ace had had to go through the full training, so did everyone else. "Oh sure, I let you be my apprentice and the next thing I know I got a bunch of kids all wanting to be my apprentice." He looked at her and sipped his coffee, even if he already looked a little strung out. "I can't spend that much time around you fucking kids. I'll be grey before I'm thirty!"

"Excuses! I coulda killed you! Ain't that the first thing they taught y'all in your day too? Don't make excuses, any task is manageable!" Hunter shot back, looking at him half-seriously. Auror training wasn't always the piece of cake she had hoped for, and she was more than used to her trainers screaming at her about everything under the sun from being late to goofing off. The don't-make-excuses lecture had been an old favorite of the auror currently teaching her combative magic.

"I never said I'd tell anybody.. want me to wear a mask, like Batman and Robin, yeah? But y'all gotta be Robin. It'll be top secret an' besides that, I ain't a damn kid! I'm gonna have a kid, that's how like.. un-kid-like I am, man!"

Taking a moment to flick the ash from her cigarette, she hesitated as she gave him a serious look. "You ain't already hittin' thirty?" she asked seriously.

"Less of the 'in your day' shit" he sighed. "You can stand in one spot in the snow for fucking nine hours tomorrow."

He looked Hunter up and down, choosing to let the Robin comment slide, even though he would definitely be a batman. "Don't look pregnant" he pointed out. "I've seen a lot of kids who have kids anyways, don't make them any more mature." He flicked his cigarette away and set about lighting another. "And don't call me man."

Ace looked at her sharply, frowning completely. He didn't look that old, did he? He was still a couple of years off! "Fuck off" he grumbled.

"Honest?!" Hunter asked, with all of the excitement and enthusiasm of a child as she stared at Ace. "Ten bucks says I catch like, twenty damn criminals. Nine hours is forever!"

She looked slightly skeptical herself as he gave her a look over, and she cracked a little grin as he muttered at her. "Struck a nerve, gramps? Don't you worry, yer still the coolest auror to me. I bet y'all like, caught a hundred terrorists over the years, haven't ya? You can tell me!" she insisted, still grinning. "An' besides that, I ain't knocked up.. my ol' lady is."

Puffing out her chest importantly, Hunter puts her hands onto her hips. "I'm more like super dad."
