[has been taking what Madara had said onboard, trying to become rivals with Tobirama. it was supposed to improve friendships or potentially make the other party a disturbing pervert which Tobirama seemed a few years off that point. trying to get more attention from the teacher, trying to put his hand up more, not always working because he is not as smart as science as Tobirama is and got in trouble for answering incorrectly too many times because it was annoying. sport, he always beat him at that, until he looked over to see what he was doing while running and slammed into the pole, giving himself a concussion. everything he tried, he failed at. Tobirama was more superior in every way.

sits quietly next to him at lunch, stuffing a rice ball into his mouth, a bit huffy over his constant failures. hmph, mom makes better rice balls than your mom... ugh, choking. help help!]

[hasn't really noticed Izuna trying to compete with him, probably because Izuna keeps failing, but has noticed he's trying to be more active in everything so is trying to be supportive. figures it's just Izuna trying to improve his personal skills in things. Izuna's never been the type to compete in anything, so of course is assuming it's everything else except competition.] ... [glances over at him as he stuffs his face and chokes, looking alarmed. gives his back a hard pat.] Hey, you okay? Don't eat so fast.

[this is disheartening. if they had a rivalry where both of them were participating, he would clearly lose and doesn't understand why. he is popular-ish, he is smart and a little bit athletic, more than Tobirama is. he will even give up cake to beat him at something!] Why are you so good at everything? You even saved my life. [silent sob... eats more rice ball.]

[takes the piece off him and nibbles. wonders if he should tell him what he is doing because you don't talk, you just become rivals naturally.] I'm just... trying to pick up my game, y'know. 	Maybe a little. [no, rivals don't do that. they do it all on their own like Madara does with his studying before the big test to beat Hashirama so it's more of a victory.] Actually, I might try it on my own this time. 	Your brother and mine are still great friends. He said that you form a better bond and you understand each other better. I don't want the fighting but what if we become boring! I don't think we'll become like that ... we're no good at being rivals. When people fight they don't get closer, they just ... fight and stop talking to one another. Our brothers don't know how to do anything but fight, but we know how to do other stuff ... We won't become like that. I don't think so ... [but maybe they will? Hashirama and Madara have been around each other a long time.]

	I'm not sure about that. They have an internal tally on hospital visits, I don't think we want that. Just, where we see the other person excel, we then have to try and beat them at it. Like science. If I beat you at that, I have then beaten you in an area you are better at and therefore, the rivalry is in effect. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
