It's still winter in Connecticut. However, my flight landed safely in Charleston a few hours ago, and I think I'll go to the beach tomorrow. I have a feeling I'm a bit rusty when it comes to surfing, though - not to mention I have no idea where my board is.

But I've gotta say, I'm glad to trade in my skis for a surfboard and winter coat for what I'm told is a bright yellow Hawaiian print shirt. I've missed this island, and there's no better occasion to come back than my brother's wedding (which should've taken place years ago, I have to say, but better late than never). Three weeks of mom's cooking, too. I love vacation.

Look at that familar face.

Welcome back, Joey. It's good to see you back in town after... well, I honestly can't even remember the last time I've seen you. Regardless, you should come over for dinner tonight. We're having roast chuck and potatoes.

It was last summer, actually. I hear I missed a hell of a holiday season, but there's no way I'd skip out on Ed finally becoming an honest man.

I'll drop by, for sure.

Has it really only been that long? Oh dear, you'll have to excuse me. Between making sure everything is set for the wedding, getting ready to move into Eddie's house, trying to make sure the kids are alright, working out these schedules for the flower shop, trying not to stress over the fact that we've all been thrown into some sort of rip-off of a comic book and resisting eating an entire pie that I've just baked everything that's going on, I worry that I may be losing my mind at times. The holidays were interesting to say the least, you've missed quite a bit.

I finally bagged him, only took me two decades and two kids. I'm a bit of a procrastinator at times, what can I say?

We look forward to it.
