This was absurd. He was merely going to discuss some important matters with Namor. He'd known the man since he was twelve years old; it shouldn't be that hard. But he knew there was more to it than that.
It hadn't been a problem when his brother had made an ass of himself; he could simply tell himself the girl was far too young, berate himself for any residual weakness for beautiful young women with names that sounded like "Cassie," and move on.
It was meeting her again later that was difficult. And the next year, and the next. She was beautiful, she was fierce, and she was an adult he couldn't shake from his mind anymore.
"Miss McKenzie, if you will excuse the request, could possibly presume to invite you to tea at the Baxter Building?"
"...I think I could do that."
