1) The two first met when Steve came down to the T-Bolts HQ to see Anya, passing civilly if not memorably, until both found themselves in the training room at the same time, taking in some archery practice.

2) Which very quickly led to posturing over who was the better shot.

3) Steve graciously volunteered to dial back his arm to ordinary human strength levels, and the two got into an archery contest rather quickly. Which was basically the "split his arrow in twain" moment from Robin Hood stories, over and over and over and over and over.

4) For three hours. It only stopped when they ran out of arrows.

5) Which was followed by drinks and a friendly rivalry that continued any time they were both in the same place.
