Background History:
The day Sakura was born, her parents considered her the epitome of perfection- or however close you could get to perfection in the City of Angels. Her parents were hard working second generation Japanese, her father working an honest and more than decent white collar job, while her mother worked from home with interior design. As a child, she was the center of attention, what with her wit and charm, and even managed to grab higher than average grades- something of a feat considering she lived in the entertainment capitol. Every week would hold an after-school play date, and her Friday and Saturday evenings were home to her Japanese classes as to not let her heritage died. She got the best of what her parents could give her, and she strived to do the same for them.
However, as with most cases of growing up, Sakura went through a few major changes. The beginning of seventh grade marked the passing of her mother, devastating the preteen and her father. There weren't any changes in her grades at that time, more just the emotional aspects that fluctuated. It didn't help that by the ending of the first semester during her eighth grade year, her father remarried. Sakura tried to accept the fact that people had to move on, like her father had, but her step-mother was naive and young, not meant for the mothering sort of life. The blossoming teen had more than a few arguments with her, and by the beginning of her first year of high school, she made a point of going out of her way to go against the new addition to the family.
Every night would be dedicated to going out with her friends, and would end with her sleeping over at someone else's house; it was a surprise to see her home more than twice a week. She experimented with what teenagers have at their disposal, a majority in part due to teenage hormones and the thought of themselves being invincible. By the time she was seventeen, she wasn't a virgin (thank the captain of the varsity football team), had dyed her hair multitudes of colors and had multiple surface piercings. Needless to say, her father, step-mother and step-brother were becoming more and more skeptical of her and the future she had.
By the time her senior year strolled around, the (currently) pink-haired teen was the campus Queen; she wasn't on the cheerleading team though, (she had to stop dyeing her hair which was something she refused to do), but she was dating the team captains of football, soccer, swim, and tennis. For Homecoming she was one of the four princesses' (the Homecoming Queen was a flighty blond that she was friends with), and had done the night away with dancing and spiked drinks. Moving from the initial dance, the after-party was at a hotel and their drinking binges continued well into the early hours of morning. She and her friends never heeded the "DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE" warnings, reasoning that so-and-so drove better when intoxicated, anyway.
Sakura wasn't as lucky that day, as the vehicle swerved onto oncoming traffic at five fifteen in the morning. She had lost two of her colleagues to that accident: a fellow princess and the soccer team captain. She was hospitalized with minor injuries, and went to her friends' funerals the week after. Having been excused from school activities and classes for the next month or so, Sakura decided that it was time to face facts. The fear and relief that both her parents had for her was stuck within her head, and she decided to make aments to them. By the time she went back to school, she was intent on going to college and doing good for herself. She didn't stop dyeing her hair and she did go out every night as before, but her grades were raising themselves up. She could handle school work and friends better than anyone had thought.
By the time Prom came around the corner, she was nominated once more for Prom Queen, and this time her reign over campus was real. She was still the same girl from before, spunky attitude and all, just with a smaller dash of recklessness and taste of danger. She graduated her high school with praise, and got accepted into a beauty school; she figured it made sense as she had so much talent with dyeing her own hair and doing make-up on her friends, she might as well become a professional at it. Her senior trip was a road trip with her friends down to Las Vegas- the night life and overall scene catering to her every dream and desire. The trip back took them to Reno and gave her a real taste of what could be done with life- and she was hooked. Live pornography wasn't the same as watching it through the internet. With a vow to come back to the place and get a job there, she left with intent.
During the two years of college, she went back to Reno again and again, sometimes with her friends and other times alone, and she fell in love with the general city more. It took her two years to graduate with honors, and with the diploma she took up her stuff and moved to Reno. She was twenty spanking years old, and she would make a different to this place- even if was on the sidelines, for now. At first it was hard finding a job, having to live with doing odds and ends like waitressing and delivery, but by the time she was twenty-one, she was more familiar to the city and it's professions.
Though she wasn't sure whether she landed the job as a make-up artist because of her talent or her looks, she could care less. She was in, and that was all that mattered. With one goal achieved, she wondered about her other one, something she had been interested in since her first visit here, and there it leaves her today.
Personality, Likes & Dislikes:
((The background part really delves more into her personality and such more than this, so I'm sorry if it's a bit short.))
Sakura loves to be the center of attention, and for some reason or another, people let her be it. She smiles like she owns the world, and has her chin held up at all moments possible. Though she's generally sweet, it doesn't mean that she is always; after all, the working environment is completely different than after hours. Having been gifted with a sharp mind, and even sharper tongue, she is capable of rendering those that think her harmless, speechless.
She's pretty honest with everything, though sometimes it's blunt and to the point, and she tries not to make a big fuss out of things. Though she has miles of self-confidence, she does have those moments of wondering if she's good enough to qualify for something or someone. It's not unusual for her to wear a denim mini skirt one day, and the next, show up with a pair of sweats. She makes friends very quickly, but a lot of them are flighty as they have a hard time getting past her rough edges and defense mechanisms. However, once past that aspect she's as good as gold. Everything else put aside, she's average.
Though Sakura likes many things, the top ten that she would list in any situation would be: sex, body modifications, chocolate, hot commandeering men (hot men in general), movies, alcohol, clubbing, talking, sleeping and photography.
In the sense of dislikes, it's more of a reasoning thing. She dislikes the gym, but she goes to work out every three or four days to at least keep her weight in check, if nothing else. She does think people who repeat themselves (constantly) are annoying, and those who can't take no for an answer completely disdainful. Of course, on the flip side, she's attracted to people who think in the way of 'must have and will get'. One thing that she purely hates is being alone. Sakura is the type to enjoy little physical touches, so just the aspect of there not even being someone in the room scares her, if nothing else.
