He'd anticipated this. Having seen the waitress approaching their table with the bill, he'd gotten out his wallet and already had cash in hand when the bill finally got there. Having paid while Sarah was still fishing for her wallet he turns to her and just frowns while giving her a 'what are you doing?' look.
