"Sapphires? Because you like them or more practical reasons?" He'd admit that jades were only a specialty of his because his mother had liked them. Diamonds too for that reason. And it was so much easier to learn about them when she'd pull out her jewelry as examples to compare to. But that also meant he wasn't so good with pearls. It was an unwritten rule in the manor that unless it was for a mission, people didn't wear or talk about pearls.
Dancing did give them an excuse to be this close, and he was quite glad that he actually knew how to dance. He really wouldn't have this opportunity to be near her otherwise.
