He suspected she liked his hair, but probably not to the extent she actually did. Even while appreciating her body he realizes he's moving fast even for them, but that tunic had set him off and there was really nothing he could do but pounce.
She'd distracted the detective enough that he couldn't even tell things were getting overcooked.
