He couldn't go bouncing right in to chat up the models because it'd look too sleazy really, since he was doing it for himself and all. Maria would get a pass for that because well...girl and not doing it for her own interest. At least on the surface. So Thomas first goes to talk to one of the organizers backstage, polite chit chat, thanking for an invite, complimenting on the show, the usual thing. He very pointedly did not look at Maria when she pointed at him across the room.

Only when that was done was he free to shoot a charming smile at a model who'd wandered over. Known relation to the richest man in the city, height, a charming smile and the ability to actually maintain eye contact with hot women in bikinis (all those years of working with women in spandex were good for something) all gave him a good start and the rest wasn't all that difficult, he'd had to do this at enough parties and for enough covers after all. He had a feeling he'd have to clear up some misconceptions Maria might cause though.

So he'd be there for the next bit, talking to a group of models, grinning, laughing along and flirting. It was easy enough to do so, and he'd just completely ignore Maria for the rest of this so she didn't throw him off.
