depends on what basis you think they won't fit. the only reason i would ever do that would be if the role calls for someone of a specific age and the character is significantly older or younger, like if the film role is for a father of 4 teenagers but someone wants to put their 25 year old character in it. or if the role calls for someone of a specific ethnicity for a specific reason, like giving tom cruise the role of othello.
