i've had difficulty in both, tbh. i've had organic lines fizzle because the other writer and i didn't click and i've had pre-planned lines flourish because we did. and the other way around. half of my battle is getting comfortable enough with a writer to play out a romantic line, which is admittedly harder for me in pre-planned lines, if only because the characters haven't interacted at all before that moment (usually). but that being said the last couple of pre-planned romantic lines i've had have been incredible, because i was very, very lucky to find slps who were as invested and as interested in the characters, and the line, as i was. but i've definitely had more experience in wanting a pre-planned line to work out just to have it vaporize. so idk. in my case i think it's totally the luck of the draw.
