Hello/Salutations/Good Afternoon.
One ordinary afternoon, just outside a Stark Inc. office, a young man stepped out of a portal that briefly opened between spatial planes. He carried a small metal cylinder in one hand, a letter in the other, and a pack on his back.

"May I see/meet/speak to Mr. Stark, please?"

Tony is in his office when the buzzer sounds, informing him that he has a visitor.

"Can I get a name for this visitor?" he asks the receptionist.

When she relays the name "Legate Son-of-Century-and-Azimuth," there's only a little bemusement in her voice. She works for Stark. After a while, nothing's weird.

That name tickles something at the back of Tony's brain. Oh boy.

"Go ahead and send him up, please. I'll talk to him." Tony says, wondering how this will go. He hasn't heard from Century in a long, long time.

And Legate comes up, standing in the room with perfect posture. "Good afternoon, Mr. Stark/Sir. It is a pleasure/privilege to meet you." He offers Tony the letter. "This is from my parents."

The letter is actually two. Century addresses Tony as a former colleague, admits that he's made Legate stay home instead of seeing other worlds, but he's an old man now, and as time runs out for him, he realizes he shouldn't take any from his son. Additionally, there may be the slightest hint that in these last days, the last of the Hodomur would like the very last of the Hodomur out from underfoot for a bit. He asks as a personal favor that Tony try to look out for the boy while he's on Earth.
Azimuth's request is similar, but less familiar, not really knowing Tony, and more businesslike, noting that if there's anything Stark and the City can do for each other, they'd be happy to negotiate.
Azimuth's letter also uses far fewer words. Old habits apparently die hard for Century.

Legate will happily just wait, smiling, while Tony reads them.

Tony reads the letter, thinking over the request and how to help this young man.

"Legate, I'm glad to meet you. Can you tell me what skills you possess? It'll help me find a way to get you the best experience you can have while being on Earth." Tony tells him.

Legate is thoughtful. "Well, I have experience organizing matters, since I've been helping Mother in administration/pastoral care/jurisprudence for the City for a few years; and I'm reasonable versed in the languages the City has encountered, which includes several of Earth and civilizations in contact with Earth. My...ease/fluency/grasp of idiom is a bit problematic in some cases. I'm familiar with combat training and armed with a retractable quarterstaff -- it's just a quarterstaff, no mystical properties or level of sentience like my father's staff. Physiologically, I am a psychic/psionicist/telepath, and can levitate in certain circumstances."

Tony considers Legates words, his arms crossing over his chest. The Thunderbolts seem like they're a capacity now and the Avengers also seem to have a few people who bring the same skills to the table that Legate has. Conceivably, he could suggest this young man to James, but the West Coast Avengers also seem to have most of their bases covered.

Force Works, however, seemed like they were in need of a linguist at the very least. Also, Rhodey would probably be happy to see Century's son.

Oh yes, the prospect of letting Rhodey deal with this was looking better each moment...and sticking Rhodey with a telepath was hilarious enough that Tony was decided.

"Okay, Legate, I need to square up with you. I don't really have a place for you around here, but another of your dad's friends, my pal Jim Rhodes, would /love/ to see you out in Kansas City. He's fond of telepaths and being corrected in several different language, so what I'm going to do is put you in touch with him so you two can discuss the work he's doing out at Cambire Designs.

How does that sound?" he asks.

Legate smiles. The sarcasm totally misses him. "That sounds promising/interesting/nice, Sir."

"I thought you might like that, Legate. So, how are you liking Earth so far? Have you tried Thai food? If you haven't, you need to." Tony tells him.

"Very much! The air tastes so different. I have not yet, but if it is so advisable/recommended, I will at the next opportunity/convenience. What is the best way to get to Kansas City?"

"Well, an airplane does the trick for most of us. Can you fly or teleport yourself? You'll save time if you can." he says.

He shakes his head. "I can only float/hover. My parents opened a portal for me. An airplane should be interesting!"

"It would probably be optimal to get to Kansas City first, and see New York when I have had time to better plan my itinerary/agenda."
