1) She's really, really not expecting him to say "yes" when she asks him out.
2) To this day, neither of them is entirely sure how they ended up in Mexico. They certainly didn't walk there, and Alina doesn't remember casting any teleport spells after they met up. There wasn't even any major crime going on in the area -- they checked!
3) Mexican food, horchata, and star-gazing in the Mexican desert might not be burgers, milkshakes, and a movie, but they had a good time anyway.
4) Both of them end up blushing several times, but for entirely different reasons.
5) It ends with a mostly-chaste kiss, a wink, and an offer to let him be in charge of the next date if he wants.
