Of course it isn't a good idea! You'll end up meeting the poor witch and hating her, but you'll marry anyway because you're too much of a coward to do anything else, then you'll spend four months or so at each other's throats, then one of you will nearly die, she'll get pregnant, and the whole thing will be one giant fiasco.
