FRANK Frank literally pulled Emmeline off the ground when she hit rock bottom. When they were younger they bickered and hated each other like a brother and sister would at that age, but when Hogwarts hit Emmeline was grateful to have Frank around to protect her from the troubles a smart-mouth Ravenclaw was prone to get into. He was literally the only family she had when Emmeline's parents moved to France with only a letter of notice and she knows that she would never have made it through Hogwarts, the Order, or the war if it wasn't for Frank. She wanted to be a person that he would want in his life, in his son's life; Emmeline's love for Neville is nearly comparable to Frank's and it breaks her heart every day that she can't see him. Losing Frank, in all the terrible things that have happened to Emmeline in the past few years, was her greatest tragedy, but she keeps moving forward because Frank would never have let her stay down. |
ANNELIESE Anneliese provides Emmeline with an escape from all the dramatics the Order and war brought her, which is ironic because Anneliese is married to a death eater. At some point, Emmeline and Will made a silent agreement to keep Anneliese in a neutral territory and it was one the best decisions Emmeline ever made. It sounds strange, but Emmeline truly believes that Will loves Anneliese more than he was dedicated to the Dark Lord and that her friend was safe. When these two are together it's like they're normal young women with silly stories, obsessions, and now constant talk about their children. Emmeline loves Anneliese's eternal optimism because she herself has never been able to look on the bright side, and is glad that she has someone with enough pep to do it for the both of them! |
CARADOC I think what I love most about these two is that they were actually good friends/rivals (?) before they began seeing each other. Emmeline was always his little sister's annoying friend, but their back and forths through journals and at events showed how well they connected on many different levels. Emmeline can't deny that Caradoc was someone she'd fancied, even if it was in the back of her mind, but she'd never thought she really had a chance. When he approached her, even under their death-eater-centric circumstances, she was still excited at the prospect of being with Caradoc. He moves her, he's incredibly fascinating and that draws her closer to him every day. She lives to make him happy which sounds cliché, but Caradoc literally laid down his life for her and if the circumstances had been switched around, hell, if she'd only been able to pinpoint where that final battle had been, Emmeline wouldn't have hesitated in giving her life for him too. Emmeline is obsessed with making their lives better. Better than it was during the war, better than when their parents weren't there for them, better than anything she could have imagined for herself. He's given her a son and made her a mother which is something she thought she'd never have and Emmeline is eternally thankful for that gift. She just loves him so much! |

RHYS Rhys has seen the best and worst of Will, and he's truly the only person that can say that. Being the youngest of six children can certainly work on a person's nerves, so ti was really lucky that Will was Sorted into Slytherin with a roommate whose natural demeanor was calm and collected. They have been together since they were eleven years old, so going on more than a decade of being each other's closest companion! I like that I can see them both as men who are best friends and brothers in arms when it comes to serving the Dark Lord. Both sort of fell into becoming death eaters and it's once again true to their nature that they both took the risk of moving to France to stay out of the fray. Will wouldn't hesitate in doing anything for Rhys because he knows that his friend would and has done everything for him. |
ANNELIESE She loves him for the person he wants to be, the face he portrays to Anneliese is who Will wants to be remembered as. It's sappy. She still makes his heart flutter and always brings a smile to his face, and it's why he's fought so hard to keep her by his side. I mentioned it with Emmeline, but Will's love for Anneliese has kept him from overstepping boundaries that the Order's placed, even though there have been some close calls. Will would absolutely lose his mind if he lost Anneliese, because she has created an anchor for him in the 'real world' that he desperately wants to stay latched to. Now that the war is over the struggle isn't as fierce, but when Voldemort was in power returning home to Anneliese was what drove Will every day. |

ALEX Their relationship was nothing short of a whirlwind. While they ended, Graciela still considers Alex one of her closest friends. He was able to show her that mistakes were okay to make and that everyone can recover and jump back from them. Her will always have a place in her heart, and she is glad that Zacharias doesn't have to feel torn between his two parents. Also he's helped shape her sense of human/give her a backbone/jade her a little so that she doesn't get taken advantage of which is a skill she'd always lacked. |
ZACHARIAS Oh, her little snarky boy! Even though Graciela had always wanted to write, it Zac that gave her the drive to finish her book and take a stand. Becoming a mother will always be the shining achievement of her life, and while she may have gone about it in an order she had not expected of herself, it made her into a person she could be proud of. Zacharias is wise beyond his years and often his blunt observations of emotional scenarios help Graciela realize that life is too short to stress over the little things. Whatever happens, she has her boy. |
EDWARD He excites her. After her divorce Graciela had no intention of dating for a long, long time, but then Edward came into her life. While it took a long time for them to reach relationship status, the thrilling build up made her realize that it was okay to love again. Edward appreciates the quiet life and she finds him so very interesting. What's more is that he never judged her for what Graciela found to be indiscretions and she finds herself always trying to impress him, because of the thrill she receives at his pleasant response. He'd been basically her only friend at Hogwarts and it was easy to fall back into those motions. She likes that they are taking their relationship slow, at a natural pace, and even though she (and many of her friends) are getting antsy for a ring, Graciela already knows she's going to be with him forever. |
