Alice & Lily
"I don't think he's that horrid," Alice said with a light smile, copying the text from her potions book. She felt Lily shifty beside her, feet reaching out under the table and pushing the chair across from her out.
"Oh, but he is," Lily said with a stern nod, slouching low into her seat, "Just--just look at that smug face, he's always got that look."
Alice's eyes shot up from her homework to stare across the common room at James Potter, who was once again showing off to Frank and the boys (when Frank was in the vicinity, Alice rarely took notice of who else was there) with his snitch.
"Is it smug when you're good at what you do?" Alice asked, just to rile Lily up.
"Is it smug? Alice, just look at his face! That smirk that makes his lip twist and---he's always doing that hair thing, his hair's a right mess, and then there's his eyes, honestly his eyes light up like---" Lily's face flushed deeply and she swatted Alice quickly in the arm, "Stop making me talk about him."
Alice's shoulders rose in an innocent manner, "That was an innocent question, you're the one that just went on and on about Jam--I mean, Potter..."
