"So...you and Vance, huh?"

Juliet's head rose slowly from the drink she was mixing (Nott's fucking house elf seemed completely inept in making anything remotely like a margarita, something she desperately needed to survive this 'engagement' party) to blink slowly at Will Jugson.

"Excuse me?"

Will pushed off the frame of the doorway and casually swaggered into the kitchen, looking far more amused than Juliet would have liked. Though the idea of Rhys being 'engaged' was highly amusing to Juliet herself; even she couldn't deny the 24 carat diamond ring he'd given her for some reason or another--if he wanted to call it an engagement, then fine, but she liked to think of it as an apology present for being an ass for the past nineteen years of his life.

"I saw the look you were giving her earlier," he pressed, leaning back into the counter with his eyebrows high. Oh. Juliet could tell by the smirk forming on his face that he was teasing, bringing up that stupid gossip rag that the idiot Gryffindors had thrown about in June. How bloody annoying; Anneliese really wanted to marry this buffoon?

"Are you sure they were directed to her?" Juliet snipped quietly, pouring her drink with expertise. Ravenclaw sleepovers did provide some sort of educational value for the real world. "Maybe I was not so subtly trying to get your attention."

She felt him stiffen beside her, and Juliet knew she had this win within her grasp, "Why do you think I've dealt with that idiot's advances for so long? Why do you think I offered to come over to help Anneliese with every possible detail? Wouldn't it be something, for me to reveal my long lasting lust for you at my engagement party to your best friend?"

"Er--"

By now Juliet was standing mere centimeters in front of Will, and she slowly lifted her glass to take a quick sip, eyes watching him over the rim. Jugson was flushed completely, looking quite anxious at the idea of Rhys coming in and breaking them apart. Ha.
