Homecoming
Lily opened the door of the apartment where she lived with her mother in New York City. She walked in with a smile.

Themyscira was beautiful, and she'd enjoyed living there for the past three years, but it felt good to be home.

"Mom?" Lily closed the door behind her, looking around for her mother, who knew that she was coming home today.

	Donna, who had been in her darkroom looking at some negatives, came out when she heard her daughter's voice. She visited her on Themyscira as often as she could, but she was glad that Lily was home. 	Donna laughed, putting an arm over Lily's shoulder, hugging her to her side as they walked into the kitchen. "I've been fine. And, unless you count talking your Aunt Cassie out of buying an eight hundred dollar purse, then no, I haven't." "You hungry? I could fix you something, or we could order takeout. Whatever you want." Lily blinked "An eight HUNDRED dollar purse? Wow. That must've been a really nice purse for Aunt Cassie to want it so bad. She's normally such a bargain hunter."

"Could we order from Mario's? I haven't had pizza in FOREVER. I'm not saying that they don't know how to cook on Themyscira, but there's definitely no pizza. Or Chinese. Or Indian." A pause. "We should fix this, Mom."

She sat down at the counter. There was so much that she had to tell her mother. Like being named the Champion of a Goddess.

	Donna laughed, as she pulled out the menu for Mario's. "You'd definitely need to discuss that with Aunt Diana, honey. Though I don't seem to recall you ever objecting to the food when I visited you." She called Mario's, ordering a large Hawaiian pizza and cheesy breadsticks for the two of them. "While I was on Themyscira, something happened to me," Lily said. "Don't worry it was good, though."

She paused, unsure how to tell her mother.

"When I was on Themyscira, I caught the attention of Artemis," Lily said. "The Goddess, that is. She started watching me shortly after I arrived. Not too long ago, she set up a test for me. I didn't know it was a test until after, and she appeared to me and told me that she'd had her eye on for sometime. She asked me to be her Champion, and she'd give powers, like yours and Aunt Diana's.

So I am. Her Champion, now that is. And I have powers like yours, Aunt Diana's, and Aunt Cassie's."

Lily stopped, letting her mother process what she'd just told her.

Donna listened to everything her daughter had to tell her.

"Artemis made you her Champion? If there's anything I've learned in my experience with the Gods, they seldom do things without a reason, honey. Artemis must have needed someone that she knew she could rely on.

I'm sure she'll call on you to fulfil your duties as her Champion." She smiled at Lily. "And I'm sure you'll rise to the occasion."
