Ring Retrieval
Hal Jordan shoves Malvolio to the ground.
“I think it’s safe to say your scheme is done, madman. No others will die at your hand.”
Malvolio attempts to get to his feet, but a green glowing fist shoves him to the ground. “No. You’re done.”
He looks down at the green glint on Malvolio’s finger. “And I believe you have something of mine.” He reaches down and takes the green ring from Malvolio’s finger, keeping a gag on Malvolio’s mouth to keep him from screaming any more of his rage-fuelled obscenities.
He tosses the ring in his hand. It’s been years since he wore that band… back before he was turned into Parallax. Malvolio traded rings with him years before, during one of his other mad schemes. And now Hal’s retrieved it.
The ring he’s had for so long now – the one that was once Malvolio’s – feels like his own now. But this ring he’s recovered is the one that he began his career with. This ring is the one that once belonged to Abin Sur.
And he knows exactly who he needs to give it to. Someone who has finally earned it.
He tosses it into the air one more time, smiling, and catching it out of the air.
