WHAT'S YOUR NAME?: riley james grayson. after a long list of girl names they had come up with and only a handful of boy names my parents were surprised when i turned up male. because of the lack of male names they had come up with, my mother wanted to name me tobias but thankfully my father stood firmly against it and they settled on naming me riley, after my dad's baseball coach all through high school - random i know but i actually like my name. my middle name comes from my grandfather on my mother's side. i didn't know my grandfather very well since he was in a nursing home by the time i was five but from what i know he had a very kind heart.
WHERE ARE YOU FROM?: huntington beach, california. also known as surf city, usa. its a pretty awesome town with a lot of crazy people and too many tourists - just like any other california town. but me and my family didn't stay there long. we stayed in huntington until i was five and moved very far, far away to hollywood a full hour away from my old home. all because my dad wanted to move us further inland. that home didn't last very long either, after moving once already my dad decided that we should move again and of course we moved farther away to new york city when i was eight and we've stayed there since.
WHAT'S YOUR FUNCTION?: living & breathing mainly. but my function in the band is as the nerdy guitarist. i play in the band "super? ok!" with.... - story behind the band goes here -
FAVORITE TV SHOW/MOVIE/FOOD/ETC: TV SHOW: addams family, or anything that's on tv land because that channel pretty much owns my soul these days. yeah tv land is amazing - and i know it isn't a tv show but anything that has leave it to beaver, wings, the jeffersons, cheers, good times, i love lucy and all in the family in one day deserves the huge amount of attention that i give it daily.
MOVIE: its a toss up between the addams family values or nightmare before christmas. both of those movies are really good and were staples in my childhood. i used to watch nightmare before christmas once every day and still know ever single word to that movie when i watch it today. i only watch it every once in a while and in october i pretty much watch both movies every day until halloween then i watch the old school monster movies on halloween night because i don't go out anymore and trick or treat.
FOOD: pancakes!!!! oh chicken nuggets, and fruit roll ups - i don't care if fruit roll ups are actually a snack. pancakes are amazing, and there is nothing else i can say about them. i pretty much grew up eating nothing but chicken nuggets and fruit roll ups. it wasn't because we were poor or something, it was because i wouldn't eat anything else even if i was forced. chicken nuggets is what i ate for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and i never brought fruit roll ups to school in my lunch though, i usually traded what i didn't want with some kid for a fruit roll up and a few pringles.
COLOR: green, its just an awesome color and everyone knows it. i also like the color blue and red, my art class made me like almost every color in the color palette - except brown, i don't understand the color brown.
DRINK: capri sun. if you want to make me happy, buy me capri sun and it will work. capri sun is pretty much my life. if i'm having a crappy day i just drink a capri sun and it makes my day ten times better. i blame it on the awesomeness that is the lunchable, which i still eat today.
BEST THING ABOUT TOURING: no showering, missing home, sleeping all day, missing my puppy named oz, learning new dance moves from fans. seriously though the fans are the best part about touring. even if we have five fans or two hundred and five fans at a show, they are all great fans and i love every one of them. they are pretty much the greatest fans ever because they bring me cool things when they come to the shows. even when it isn't my birthday, i'll get little gifts from the kids that come to the show. its pretty awesome, and they are really amazing kids - not only for the gifts but because they are really great people to hang out with.
