"You do not like talking about such?" He tilted his head, suddenly fading into the shadows and then sitting by Derek's side of the tree branch. Thankfully it could take both their weight.

Dolemeck was blessed, and cursed with his abilities to "shadow travel". He could fade or dive into any shadow, and come up in another. These were his "gifts" as a demon, and a power he managed to hold on to, despite Venus blessing him with a human form and a soul.

"I am sorry, Derek. You know I do not mean to upset you. But if I do not talk about such things with someone I can trust... Brother, you do not know what it is like to second guess everything. To fear turning back into some... monster, and destroying everything you love about this world. I know Mother told me I can do... things... if I so wished. But I fear that in doing such actions there will be negative reactions. Mostly from what I have read in human books over the past hundred years."

Despite Dolemeck's age, he could still act like a child sometimes. And while he was told that with his soul he could seek out love and comfort should he wish, he still feared the implication of sin to the point it stunted him in a way. Stunted him to the point that some of his mother's friends considered him to be like a frightened imp that hides in the shadows from the slightest sound.
