Terris: *knows they all had a rough night* Your nights will get better. *he looks around at them* You're grieving, it makes resting hard.

*None of them will meet his eye at that, each drawing in to one extent or another.*

Terris: *will...gently prompt them to talk about Yuuta and the other people that they miss. He'll turn this morning into a grief counseling session basically, just letting them get their emotions out in words at least, though if any start to cry he'll encourage them to. There's no shame in shedding tears for someone they loved and lost. Someone might even point out that Yuuta felt no shame in crying...*

Kage: *will remain largely quiet, though if prompted to talk (and...he will be), he won't speak of Yuuta so much as he'll speak of his time with SM...and his regret over what happened there at the end*

*They'll resist, /not/ wanting to talk about it. And . . . it'd be Duke to point out about Yuuta crying if anyone does, as none of the others would. He won't right away, though, out of respect. Talk is quiet, largely matter-of-fact. McC is…numb…as he talks about Seia, just focusing on how much he admired her. Dmps flat /refuses/ to talk about Ayako. PJ has a wry, fond little grin on his face as he talks about Masaki, Emily, and Kikumaro. Duke shares about Regina, and a little about Ringo, John, Paul, George, David, Tom, and William, the team's counterparts back in England. All of them have stories about Yuuta – how they met him, first impression, personal memories – plus Saejima, Toudou, and all their engineers. Deckard will also share about Yuuta's parents and sisters.*

((The four British Braves we see in the series, by canon, are named after the Beatles, with their codenames or whatever being chesspieces like Duke's – King, Bishop, Rook, and Pawn. I don't remember which one's which. I've also come across info that there were three more who only showed up in comic form: Ace, Ten, and Jack. IDK their names, so I named them after Doctor Who actors – the first William Hartnell, the tenth David Tennant, and…my personal favorite Tom Baker. XD))

Terris: *won't make anyone talk about anything they don't want to, but will encourage them to share. It's good for them to talk about it. He's respectful of all memories and impressions shared, and only wishes he could have met the people so precious to all of them. When they have talked all they seem to want to, he'll start teaching them the things they'll need to know. They'll start with hunting. Well....they'll start will how to set snares, tie knots, and identify animal tracks.*

	They'll all set themselves to the tasks…with varying success. Dmps is still dealing with headaches and the like from the concussion, and DB just…bores and gets distracted too easily – he doesn't mean to be troublesome, but he's hyper and has a short attention span. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Terris: *will keep an eye on Dmps today, just to make sure he's okay, and will have him just....go lie down during the day when he seems exceptionally dizzy. He'll assure Dmps that he'll be fine, he just needs to treat his body well and rest. As for DB...well, for DB's sake he'll give breaks for teaching survival...and will suggest games. Something active that has them moving, just to help burn energy.*
Kage: *eager to learn......and happy to play. It kind of reminds him of his time alone with SM. The running, the chasing, the challenge. It's kind of fun, and he'll try to help get others into playing too if they don't just give in and play.*

*McC somewhat and especially PJ (and Dmps as much as he can) get on DB's case about sticking to task, this is /important/, why can't he just concentrate? Deckard will apologize for him to Terris. DB's defensive but keeps making himself settle down to work. When Terris tries to get them to break and especially play, several of them try to turn it down at first – they /need/ to learn this and as quickly as they can. SM has no objection to play, though, and will help draw out the others. Duke, McC, and GM especially resist – GM's comment is that play is for /children/ (and refuses to acknowledge that he /is/ one now), but…SM is able to coax him off. Deckard doesn't fuss much only because he agrees that it might be good for the team.*

Terris: *won't rub it in GM's face that he /is/ a kid now, but will insist that having fun and burning some energy is a good thing for /all/ of them. And don't worry! They have a lot to learn, and they'll all absorb the information /better/ if they take it in a little at a time. He'll get them all playing (with help from SM and Kage) and they'll have a good time. When that's done they'll head out to see how their snares did. Looks like they got a good catch of rabbits! They'll reset the snares and head back to the den where Terris will teach them how to skin, clean, and cook the meat.*

((Skipping ahead. Scene after this is Deckard and GM in trouble, after that is setting up b-days (wanna safe that for when you can't brain anything but fluff), after that is DB/Dmps/PJ in trouble, then DB in trouble again. Deckard taken by slavers and Shai joining them...jumping now to the scene we were talking about last night with Kage and SM helping a half-blood. Okay? =3))

*They're on the edge of where they're allowed to be. And when they hear that /scream/ they know it's past where they are allowed to go...and this is much like what Deckard and GM got in trouble for that one time. Kage just can't ignore that scream, though. It's pitched with pain and fright. Kage glances at SM and takes off to go see if there's /anything/ he can do.*

*The scene they come upon is horrific. Three human men, all looking something between spooked and angry are around a j'har woman. She's curled up on the ground, seemingly over something. By the time the boys get close enough to see, the woman's screams have already died to gasping grunts, and those too will quickly disappear as the men continue to stab her.
Man1: The child. Get the child.
Man2: *drops his knife to grab the woman's body, pulling her up enough to turn over.*
Man3: *is coming around by man1*
Child: *soaked in blood, and clearly terrified (and for good reason), scrambles from under the woman's body and darts away*
Man1: Ah! Don't let it get away! *panic!*
Man3: *also lets out a yelp and lunges at the child, but misses*
Child: *running!*
Kage: *softly to SM* Get the child, I'll stall them. *he swoops in to do just that...he doesn't know how to fly, but he can glide rather well so far, and it's enough to do what he needs to*

	Child: she's expecting people to be chasing her, but the words don't make sense. She looks over at him...scared and uncertain, but he wasn't one of the ones attacking her and mommy, so...she shifts to follow. 	Child: soft cry when he grabs her, but then she just tucks into him, arms and legs wrapping around him as she clings. She sobbing softly against his chest/shoulder but is otherwise quiet. Child: *curls up against his back, clinging softly, shaking, and crying quietly. She'll go still after a while and SM may guess that she's gone to sleep.
Kage: *it'll be half an hour before he finds them. He slips into the hiding place and will settle.* We're safe for a while. ...We should probably wait a day before we go back to the den, though... *he shifts a bit, knowing that Terris will be upset with them...worried....everyone will be, really...*

Kage: *he nods. They definitely can't go back right away, even if it means they both end up getting a whipping for it.* No. I'm not injured. We should see what we can do to get the little one cleaned up, though. *they've all worked on learning medicine*
Child: *woke when Kage came in. Silver eyes stare back at the two from the shadows. They can tell from her eyes being an odd color, and the shape of her ears that she's a half-blood. Her hair is plastered to her head by blood, she looks like she went swimming in a pool of it.

SM: *highly aware of that too, but he'll take a spanking, even with a birch switch, over watching Terris killed and his team hauled away into slavery . . . nods at the comment, has actually been sitting here with one hand over the end of his muzzle, the child – and now he too – STINKS of blood* Come on. I remember seeing a stream near here. *will start to climb back out*

	Kage: he's /fighting/ to not cover his nose, but the look on his face says it's a struggle. He doesn't quite manage to keep from gagging once back into the open air. Child: crawls out after them and will follow. She doesn't know what else to do and they've not even acted like they might hurt her. She keeps a bit of distance, but stays near them. Kage: *crouches nearby, keeping an eye on the forest around them*
Jendayi: *easily follows him into the water. She'll do as he directs, letting him help her get washed up. She gasps and whimpers any time he touches her back or side, and it won't take long for him to discover that the knives the men had been stabbing her mother with went all the way through her mother's body and into Jendayi. None of the cuts are deep, but they will need to gather some medicines to stop the bleeding and prevent infection.*

Kage: *nods and will move around the immediate area to gather what's close. He'll have enough to start with when SM and Jendayi are clean*
Jendayi: *head back as he washes her hair, combing it with his fingers. It's a light blue and looks like it'll have a little bit of a curl when it dries. When done she'll climb out and stand there dripping.*
Kage: *will help Jendayi and SM out of the water and will start trying to wring out Jenday's clothes while SM gets himself as dried off as he can. When SM is ready they'll both prepare and apply the medicine.*
Jendayi: *hisses and dances around a bit when they apply the medicine, but doesn't cry, and doesn't try to make them stop, she knows she needs it.*

	SM: shakes himself to get the worst of the water from his fur, then does his best to squeegee her skin off and wring out her hair, then gently but firmly holds her as Kage applies the medicine – since she's not actually fighting them, it's more to give her something to brace against, supporting her, than restraining her at all (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Jendayi: *since most of it is on her back and left side, she's turned toward SM and has her arms /locked/ around his waist, face buried against his chest (or if he's crouched to hold her then her arms are around his neck and face against his shoulder) as she dances and just...deals.*
Kage: All right, all done. Shadowmaru, find a place for us to hide, I'm going to see if I can get us a little bit of food to hold us through the rest of the day and night.

*They'll find a place to hide, Kage will get them some fish (since it can be eaten raw) and some veggie roots that don't need to be cooked to eat, and will get the fish skinned and cleaned away from their hiding place. He'll come back and they'll eat then snuggle up to wait. They'll take turns keeping watch and will otherwise just try to rest.*

*As night falls....it becomes clear that Kage and SM aren't coming home. Terris, worried, goes to find them, the rest of the Braves told to stay home with Shai.*
