CURRENT RESIDENCE: Stratford-Upon-Avon, Warwickshire, England

NAME MEANING: An English name simply meaning "the son of William". It is most notable for it's use in Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice as the Christian name of the hero, Fitzwilliam Darcy.

MORE ON HIS NAME: While the name Fitzwilliam creates the urge to be creative and original, we emphasize that it causes a restless intensity that defies relaxation. Your first name of Fitzwilliam has given you a quick, analytical mind. You are creative, versatile, and imaginative. However, independence, positivity and the urge for action and progress are such strong forces in your nature that you find it difficult to control them. You feel happy as long as headway is being made, but as soon as you are obstructed or your individuality and freedom of action are restricted, you experience an intense nervous reaction. Moods of depression can result during which you become sarcastic and stubborn in your attitude toward everyone, especially to those in closest association with you.

NUMEROLOGY:
ASTROLOGICAL SIGNIFICANCE: ( LEO ) Ravenclaw Leos are brilliant scholars, loudly adding to classroom discussions and impressing others with the breadth, if not depth, of their knowledge. Many find themselves attracted, as well, to positions on the Quidditch team, partly because this lets them use their abundant energy, partly because it allows them to hog the limelight for a few hours while everybody in their House cheers them on. Their optimism and charisma make them friends everywhere, regardless of House affiliation, and their creativity makes them highly inventive in the laboratory. On the other hand, they are prone to fat egos and intellectual arrogance, and this can be intensely annoying. Emotional maturity will eventually teach them that they don't know everything, and sometimes it's best to let other people speak up and take the credit.

PERSONALITY: There is very little about Fitzwilliam that isn't easy to like: well-mannered and naturally charismatic, he is the sort of boy that is instantly thought well of wherever he goes. There is nothing forced or superficial about his personality; what is most striking when one meets him is the absolute naturalness about him, the easy way in which he converses and the genuine interest he takes when he's listening to someone. As his mother says, he would make the perfect Politician. With a strong head on his shoulders, a wealth of knowledge and the ability to make things happen, he certainly is blessed.

From an early age, Fitz has showed a profound interest in learning. He is bright without needing to try and fascinated by almost every subject imaginable. Certainly his ability to move through life with such ease has given him a little room to be arrogant, and there's no denying that every now and then his ego breaks through to the surface -- particularly if he's just lost at something -- but in general, he does not brag or boast of his accomplishments. Instead, he tries to take everything in stride and does his best to remain noble and, if he can stand it, humble.

There is something else about Fitz, an air of "cool" that people either have or don't. A little something extra. Sometimes he makes choices a bit left of center, but his absolute confidence in himself makes even the most hideous failures intriguing to people. However, failure doesn't suit Fitz, and certainly the most negative aspect of his personality are his occasional mood-swings. Certainly fantastic at sulking, this side of himself doesn't rear its ugly head too often -- but when it does, watch out. His sour temper makes him completely foul, usually for a day or two, after which he shrugs it off, smiles, and is easily forgiven. Too stubborn for his own good, he usually hates being the first to apologize, but does so anyway. He knows when he's being a prat.

Besides that, he certainly has a West-coase ease with English Prep School mannerisms. As a Prefect, he takes his duty fairly seriously without being a stick-in-the-mud and never forgets to say "please" and "thank-you". Generally he's non-confrontational, rather more inclined to the rationally-talk-it-out approach than that of flying fists, but if push comes to shove, he'll defend himself. Especially if someone is bothering a person he cares about.

ANCESTORAL BACKGROUND: The Bradleys are a well-to-do British family who are firmly planted in tradition and heritage. Able to trace their anscestory back to the nobility distantly related to the Tudors, they share a comfortable position in English society as a family who consistantly turns out qualified, good-humoured, professional men. Simon Bradley, so far as he can tell, is the first man to exhibit magical powers within his bloodline. There are, however, some rather odd stories regarding one Eleanore Bradley, born 1767, that suggest he may not be the absolute first.

As for the Merriweathers of California, their ancestory and story takes a lot of twists and turns and is rather a melting pot of various eccentrics and nationalities. Nola herself is one-quarter Native American with a Grandmother belonging to the Algonquin tribes of Quebec, Canada. The Merriweathers themselves established their life in California after the gold-rush left them with little money in their pockets; they were originally forced from England for reasons which have never been fully explained, though Nola suspects it had to do with something foul and treacherous. Their blood is speckled with almost every nationality imaginable: Irish, Italian, German, Icelandic, Dutch, Russian and Canadian. Known for churning out adventurers and artists, eccentrics and crooks, their history is interesting to say the least.

PARENTS: Simon Bradley (42), Nola Bradley (nee Merriweather, 37)
THEIR RELATIONSHIP: Despite being polar opposites, it is clear to everyone that Simon and Nola have for one another a very deep-seated respect. It's difficult to determine whether or not they still are in love with one another, but they are certainly the best of friends. When dealing with their boys, they are consistantly of the "same page" parenting mentality and show to their children a united front. Their example is one of the main reasons Fitz is not jaded as so many his age are.
SIBLINGS: Gavin (18, former Hufflepuff), Astin (14, Gryffindor)
FAMILY DYNAMICS: As a family of all boys, to say that sibling rivalry existed would be a gross understatement. Being the eldest, Gavin finds the fact that Fitz seems to come by everything so naturally exceptionally difficult to deal with. The two have a sort of icey relationship that sometimes shows signs of straining in loud shout-offs and the occasional fist fight. Astin, on the other hand, is exceptionally easy-going, much like Fitz, and the two generally get along swimmingly. Gavin being rather more high-strung, the two generally find common ground in sniggering behind his back.

PERSONAL HISTORY: Coffee shops are the sort of place that seem to bring even the most conflicting of personalities together. On rainy days, most especially, and there was no denying that this was just that. Cats and dogs it poured, relentlessly, as if the sky had opened up and God had shoved a hose down. When Simon ran in, big and bulky with his wet blonde curls and a long trench coat, that's what he said. That God had opened up the skies and stuck a hose down. So you could say that he had Nola Merriweather at hello.

A Californian bohemian with a panache for failed artistic endeavours and losing all her money, the waitress didn't have to do much to woo the prospective barrister. A former Ravenclaw, Simon Bradley had returned to his muggle roots after completing his education at Hogwarts, hoping that he might one day bring his experience in this side of the law to the aide of the already failing Ministry. Times were dark then, bodies finding their ways into the most lively of houses. He couldn't take the risk. As Nola poured his coffee for him, and laughed in that tinkling, dainty way she did, he couldn't help but see in her a glimmer of his future. Perhaps it was fate, he thought. Perhaps this is what God had set out for him.

The two spent six months together in the bustling Stratford-Upon-Avon: a location Simon had merely stumbled upon due to an opening in the local law office, a location Nola had been attracted to for its artistic merits. It was at that time they realized they were pregnant with what would be their first child of three - Gavin James Bradley, born blissfully out of wedlock to the dismay of his paternal grandparents. It was at this time that Simon realized, as he looked at his baby boy, that he couldn't hide from his magical self forever. Things were quickly becoming volatile, dangerous, and he couldn't turn his back at a moment like this. He had established a name for himself as a promising rising barrister, but what did it matter if his people -- and they truly were his people -- were being slaughtered with green light?

The house they bought had a garden. That had been the only stipulation Nola had put on any property before agreeing to buy. Of course, her part of the buying was barely perceptible. Not a penny to her name, Grandmother Chambers clucked softly, shaking her head as she told the story to all the well-to-do girls who couldn't believe their bad luck. It was filled with every plant imaginable, lined with stgone walkways and detailed with bird baths. Vegetables, sprays of jasmine, sunflowers where she could manage. And in the exact middle, where she would sit cross-legged and meditate for an hour daily, baby Gavin murmuring quietly in the sun next to her, sat her eisle. It was here that Simon approached her -- delicately, as if she were glass -- and said in a soft voice: "I have something to tell you."

Opening her eyes, still squinting from the bright sun, she smiled in her crooked, half-way, that might make someone suspect it was she, not he, who was pregnant, and said simply, "Yes. I know." And she did.

The rest can be easily imagined. At times when people are faced with the prospect of death, they partake in all those mortal ceremonies and traditions that make them feel as if they are meaningful here. As if they might dig in their heals in the face of Death and simply say, no can do, I've a wedding at ten tomorrow. In spite some reservations, Simon found a job at the Ministry of Magic in the newly established Muggle Liason Office, working as a go-between in the face of what seemed like an imminent threat to International Security. He married Nola in a quiet countryside wedding, paid for entirely by his parents, who were unable to stay sore with their youngest son long. Though they've never been able to understand the Californian they have for a daughter-in-law, they came to accept her. Certainly, until they saw that Simon was being paid a good deal of money, it was they who clothed, fed, and asserted that the house the two purchased in Stratford was large enough to speak for itself.

In the midst of all this chaos, and a growing fear that Voldemort might discover his family on some unsuspecting day, the two found a light spot in the birth of their middle son, Fitzwilliam Thomas, known simply as Fitz from day one. Unlike his reserved now two-year-old brother, Fitz was a bubbly, lively and curious baby, a true comfort to his mother while Simon worked agonizing hours in London.

FACIALLY: Having succesfully come through the awkward phaze of adolescance unscathed, Fitz is a fairly nice-looking boy. He has a rather dark complexion owing to his mother's native America heritage which offers a great contrast to his bright aquamarine eyes. His winning feature is an exceedingly white smile which is easy, friendly and difficult to resist. Above his left eyebrow is a small scar where he split his forehead during a particularly nasty fist-fight with his older brother when the pair with seven & nine respectively.
HAIR: True to his Californian background, Fitz has a thick head of banana-blonde hair that makes him easy to spot in a crowd. In spite of his dark eyebrows that might lead you to believe otherwise, the colour is completely natural. He wears it in a long shag, reminiscent of his classic rock heroes, and does very little to it unless a special occasion arrises.
BODY: Being of a very athletic nature, there is no ounce of pudge to be found anywhere on this Chaser's body. Standing at 5'11, he's neither very tall or very short, instead, comfortably average. The most toned part of his body is certainly his stomach and arms, which he attributes to his training as Chaser and Hooker for his summer rugby team.
STYLE: Fitz' style could only be described as West Coast meets English Prep. With such a lovely olive complexion, he gets away with wearing bright colours -- reds, blues, greens -- and does so, often. Oxford shirts, collars and loosely hung ties make up his wardrobe, a thing which he takes very seriously.
IMPRESSION: Confident; genuine. With steady eye-contact and an easy swagger, the impression one would get when taking Fitz in is that of the utmost attention. When he looks or speaks to someone, he gives the idea that he truly cares about whatever they're speaking of.
