The size of an electrical wire is determined by the amount of power that needs to be driven to the application. That has nothing to do with the type of insulation or stranding that will be need to be figured out after. So, the electrician has told you that you will need a size 3/0 electrical wire but hasn't told you the type yet. What do you do from there?
