Extended Family: Eli has a sizeable extended family. He sees some more than the rest though.. His paternal grandfather - Emerson Lacey - and his maternal grandparents - Benjamin and Celia Jennings. He also spends time with one lot of cousins when he's at home; James, Michael and Eliza Turner. All of Eli's family are muggles except for a third cousin who recently graduated from CCI.

Detailed Description: Eli is around 6" tall and relatively well built. He has always been active - participating in muggle sports from an early age - and his frame represents this fitness. He did go through a bit of an awkward lanky stage in his earlier years of high school, but has since grown into himself.. and out of puberty. Eli has sandy blonde hair which he doesn't spend much time on. He usually gets it cut a little short and waits until it gets annoyingly in the way before getting it cut again. He doesn't seem to mind too much if it looks messy. Eli isn't overly concerned with fashion either. He will wear what's in style.. in the jeans-and-t-shirt department. He generally prefers comfort over fashion but can be convinced to dress up on occasion. He has blue eyes. Eli has no tattoos or piercings.

Strengths: Eli is very personable. He tries to give everyone a chance and is incredibly easy to get along with. Eli knows the value of hard work. He is good at being motivated.
Weaknesses: Eli is better at standing up for others than he is for himself. He tries to brush off anything directed at him.. but some of it has to stick. Eli can be completely clueless at times.

Detailed personality: Eli is, for the most part, a nice guy. He tries to do his best by everyone and will even give people he doesn't particularly like a chance. (Although it might be a limited one.) He's generally friendly and easy to get along with though. Eli is loyal to his friends and family - sometimes to a fault. He will stick up for them, and by them, no matter what. Eli was a little awkward in his earlier years, and while he's become much more sure of himself, he can revert back to that awkwardness when he's out of his element.
Eli is a practical person. Both in the way he likes to think about things and the way he likes to do things. He's always been drawn to the more hands on subjects at school. He is a hard worker and is good at keeping himself and others motivated. Though he can become a little impatient at times - usually when he's under stress. Eli is a sportsman - he doesn't mind a little competition, but he's generally graceful in defeat. He might gloat a little when he wins - though not to the point of being especially nasty.
Personal History:Eli is the eldest child of Felix and Martha Lacey, both of whom are muggles. He has a sister - Holly - who hasn't shown any magical aptitude. Eli has a good relationship with his family - including his sister. Though she's starting to find her big brother a bit of a
drag. He's recently discovered that he can embarrass her by simply being present.. which has been a bit of fun. Eli is also on close terms with one branch of his mother's family - he grew up with his cousins (James, Michael and Eliza) and always spends time with them when he's at home.
Eli had a relatively normal muggle childhood. He was always social and always active.. which could make him a bit of a handful at times. He tended to do as he was told though. Eli never had too much trouble fitting in. He always played with the other kids and was involved in sports and church groups outside of school. He was a pretty normal kid by all accounts - though he could be strange at times. There were definitely things that went unexplained with Eli.. so while the whole magic thing came as a bit of a shock to his family, it did work to explain some things about the boy.
Eli's parents were happy for him to attend CCI and have supported his magical enducation as much as they have been able. Eli's mother had to become the 'breadwinner' in the family when Eli was younger, as his father became crippled in a work accident. Felix does do temp work when and where he can though. Eli has worked every summer he has been able to in an effort to support himself a little and take some of the strain off his family.
Eli's earlier years at CCI were a little awkward. It was a lot to get used to - being away from his family, the idea of magic in general, and simply growing up. But he managed to find that social, active kid again. Indeed, as Eli grew older he became more sure of himself. He's involved in a number of social activities at the institute now - including magical and muggle sports. Eli has tended to lean towards the more practical subjects, and has worked very hard to excel in them.
The past year has been particularly trying for Eli. His relationship with Michiko Passos - which was always a bit complicated - saw her become pregnant and the two of them become parents. (Eli is both excited and terrified about this.) The whole situation has been difficult though, especially given their age. Eli had difficulty breaking the news to his parents, and while they were disappointed in him, they have tried to be supportive. Eli spent most of his summer working - he managed to hold down two jobs. Just days before the start of his final year at the institute, Eli found himself in another kind of trouble though. He used magic in a busy muggle shopping mall in an effort to save his father from a potentially disasterous fall. He was suspended from the institute pending an official investigation of the matter. It has taken him the past month to sort everything out and secure his return to the institute for his final year. He's confident that he will be able to catch up and see out the year.
