He realizes it, but instead of going for her throat right away, and possibly letting her adjust, tries to pick off a couple pieces and weaken her position. If her focus returns entirely to the game, he knows she's good enough to make up for everything, so he tries to distract her a little longer, and trade a couple pieces to keep her from realizing the position she's put herself in until there's not enough defense to shift.
Its a risky gamble, and even with all the distractions, he knows if she could see, he'd be toast here. But its also a possible avenue to victory.
He gives her a distraction, keeps her deprived and desperate, now that he has her worked up, and puts himself at risk... waiting to see if she'll piece it all together and ruin his efforts, or take the bait and leave herself open. One way or another, the game is at a tipping point.
