SHISUI APP [part five]
The damage had been done already. The interest of the suspicious crowd gathered had already been piqued, and it was suddenly announced that they were two brothers, in love and in lust-- eager to embrace each other once more in the throes of passion. It was a good thing Shisui didn't know English that well, because had he heard that, he would have bolted right then. But a sense of protectiveness came over him, tugging Sasuke into a tight hug and unknowingly playing right into the audience's desires. And though once Shisui realized what they wanted him to do he struggled, once Sasuke's life was threatened, he submitted. After that night he was sure on what his fate now was. He was going to run away, somehow. If they killed him as he ran, then he'd rather die running than sitting in the back of some locked room with bars on the windows like he was a criminal.
To the best he could, he blocked out the night with Sasuke, obviously wanting to lose the memory as quickly as possible. As a result of that night he became surprisingly obedient, in all matters aside from sex. But since he still refused clients, it was starting to cost more money to keep him than he brought in, so he was sold once more, but to a laborer this time. Shisui didn't mind the backbreaking work, he wasn't alone this time and there were more older, teenage boys to confide in. Here is where he was taught English informally, since nobody had bothered to teach him much else but sex phrases to this point. He worked well, and learned to be not so much obedient, but quiet while he sorted out in his mind the weak points of this set-up, the ways to escape, silently plotting what most only dreamed about. This wasn't a dream, this was his reality. He was going to break out, and that was the end of it.
Through Shisui's first few months in the labor camp, seeing new kids and adults come and go was nothing strange. Every so often new teenage boys from all different countries would come through. Some would stay, some would die, and some would just vanish and never to be see again. It was the way these places worked, and Shisui soon discovered that the more you faded into the background, the better. Whenever there was the slightest uprising, the punishment was always harsh and severe, and nobody got it quite as hard as the new recruits. Usually Shisui minded his business when the new ones came in, having no interest in them since he just kept to himself, but he couldn't keep that policy the moment he glanced up at the newest line of workers being brought in, and immediately recognized a very, sickeningly familiar person.
Shisui had learned the ultimate hard way to not call out to those he recognized, and he had to fight with all of his heart to not run to Itachi and embrace him right then. He waited until that night, quietly sneaking into Itachi's barracks and waking him gently, so happy to see he was alright. After catching up in the middle of the night, Shisui told Itachi he had seen Sasuke, and that Sasuke was in... good health, though he wasn't sure Sasuke's situation was ideal. For the next few days, he quietly continued to sneak to Itachi's bed to talk to him, and during work hours would go and assist him, either holding more weight for him or helping him meet his quota faster, even if he was sleep deprived and weakened, he didn't care. Making sure Itachi wasn't taken from him again was his new goal, which included making sure Itachi learned too that it was better to do what was asked of you, when it was asked. Which Itachi seemed to have a hard time with, his defiance more often than not putting him on the whipping end of a stick, which broke Shisui's heart to watch. Even though he continued to advise Itachi, he finally couldn't watch his friend get beat one more time, and stepped in, taking the full force of the beating and a nice trip to the isolation room, like a time out in Hell, a room that was cold, filthy, and tiny. Inside there Shisui knew the next night, he would break out. He would break out and run, run until he couldn't anymore.
