Sakura Application Part II

Background History:
The day Sakura was born, her parents considered her the epitome of perfection- or however close you could get to perfection in the City of Angels. Her parents were hard working second generation Japanese, her father working an honest and more than decent white collar job, while her mother worked from home with interior design. As a child, she was the center of attention, what with her wit and charm, and even managed to grab higher than average grades- something of a feat considering she lived in the entertainment capitol. Every week would hold an after-school play date, and her Friday and Saturday evenings were home to her Japanese classes as to not let her heritage died. She got the best of what her parents could give her, and she strived to do the same for them.

However, as with most cases of growing up, Sakura went through a few major changes. The beginning of seventh grade marked the passing of her mother, devastating the preteen and her father. There weren't any changes in her grades at that time, more just the emotional aspects that fluctuated. It didn't help that by the ending of the first semester during her eighth grade year, her father remarried. Sakura tried to accept the fact that people had to move on, like her father had, but her step-mother was naive and young, not meant for the mothering sort of life. The blossoming teen had more than a few arguments with her, and by the beginning of her first year of high school, she made a point of going out of her way to go against the new addition to the family.

Every night would be dedicated to going out with her friends, and would end with her sleeping over at someone else's house; it was a surprise to see her home more than twice a week. She experimented with what teenagers have at their disposal, a majority in part due to teenage hormones and the thought of themselves being invincible. By the time she was seventeen, she wasn't a virgin (thank the captain of the varsity football team), had dyed her hair multitudes of colors and had multiple surface piercings. Needless to say, her father, step-mother and step-brother were becoming more and more skeptical of her and the future she had.

By the time her senior year strolled around, the (currently) pink-haired teen was the campus Queen; she wasn't on the cheerleading team though, (she had to stop dyeing her hair which was something she refused to do), but she was dating the team captains of football, soccer, swim, and tennis. For Homecoming she was one of the four princesses' (the Homecoming Queen was a flighty blond that she was friends with), and had done the night away with dancing and spiked drinks. Moving from the initial dance, the after-party was at a hotel and their drinking binges continued well into the early hours of morning. She and her friends never heeded the "DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE" warnings, reasoning that so-and-so drove better when intoxicated, anyway.

Sakura wasn't as lucky that day, as the vehicle swerved onto oncoming traffic at five fifteen in the morning. She had lost two of her colleagues to that accident: a fellow princess and the soccer team captain. She was hospitalized with minor injuries, and went to her friends' funerals the week after. Having been excused from school activities and classes for the next month or so, Sakura decided that it was time to face facts. The fear and relief that both her parents had for her was stuck within her head, and she decided to make aments to them. By the time she went back to school, she was intent on going to college and doing good for herself. She didn't stop dyeing her hair and she did go out every night as before, but her grades were raising themselves up. She could handle school work and friends better than anyone had thought.
