Hinata App~ [4]
The next day she arranged to go stay with some of her relatives in Nevada, determined to make it out on her own, even though it quickly became obvious how sheltered of a life she had lived. She was bombarded by the overuse of technology, having never used a computer often or even having owned a cellphone. Since she had never had a reason to get a driver’s license, she found herself lost on the public transportation system, often having to rely on the (often just as bad) directions of locals. And since she didn’t want to ask her family for anything, she would need a job. She had money saved up, had applied for various scholarships so that she could attend a local college, but there was only so long the money would last and she didn’t want to impose on her distant relatives for longer than she needed to. However with no work experience to speak of, her options were limited, and unfortunately, working at a fast food establishment wouldn’t pay the rent. She saw an ad for becoming a massage therapist, and after passing all the classes and earning her certificate, she landed a job at the spa inside of Feel Good Inc. It took a while for her to figure out what exactly Feel Good Inc. does, but as long as no one from home asks too intimately about where she works, she can bear it. And the place makes her feel creative like no other. Like any curious girl who’s had no experience in the subject, she likes to write ‘scripts’, and she’s written at least three since coming to work at Feel Good Inc. Not that anyone will ever know, because she keeps them under lock and key.
Personality : The first thing, and usually the only thing before their attention is directed quickly elsewhere, that people tend to notice about Hinata is that she is incredibly shy. While she doesn’t stutter anymore unless she is very nervous or angry, she still has trouble meeting anyone’s eyes and tends to twiddle her fingers nervously. She speaks in a rather hushed voice, so that it’s hard for anyone to really hear her, and at social gatherings she’s the person who is stuck in a corner, and venturing towards the snack bar is a huge accomplishment for her. Because she is so shy, she finds it very hard to make friends, or indeed stand out at all.
It is also fairly obvious to anyone who sees her that she is very insecure about herself. She rarely voices an opinion, and if someone was to disagree with her, usually she will drop the subject or just agree with the other person. Off hand negative remarks about her person can get her down for far longer than any positive ones will lift her up, and unfortunately, she tends to listen more to people who say bad things about her than those who try to tell her good things about herself. After all, most of her life she’s been shuttled to the side or been told she isn’t good at anything, so why should now be any different?
She is also very cautious about meeting new people, and tends to have the rather odd habit of observing people and picking out the people she believes she could be good friends with. If she could ever work up the courage to approach them. As such, she tends to build up people to be something that they perhaps are not, based merely on the few times she sees them with someone else, and even if they probably have no idea who she is, she would consider them a good friend. Or at least, a good person who would make a good friend. And though she wouldn’t say no to being friends with anyone, those people she seeks out are those that she holds in higher regard, for whatever reason.
For the most part, Hinata is also a very inhibited individual, whether by personal choice or because she was encouraged to be so. While she can have fun, often it takes a bit of coaxing to get her out of her shell, and even then she can only do so around people she trusts. And there aren’t a lot of people she trusts. She’s the type that would rather never put herself out there to enjoy herself if it means that she won’t get humiliated. She’s working on getting better about that though.
