Uchiha Itachi [Part 02]
Background History:

Every child has a foolish dream that seems to easy to obtain no matter how much they are told it would never happen. You want to be something ridiculous like a astronaut or a stunt driver, all realistic jobs that could happen later in life but most of the part, it was only going to be a childhood dream and would be forgotten over the years to move onto more grounding occupations. Itachi wasn't without his own, just like the other kids, he too wanted to strive for something that seemed so far out of his grasp.

His family was not rich at all, living meagerly in a small fishing village that only source of income was hard work and the tourists that would come by for the surf. Not much chance of advancement there for anyone unless they were wanting to run something like a deli to bring in the business from the tourists. It was work or starve. Harsh but that was it. Dreams of wanting to be a fireman or a police officer were squandered when you were looking at the bowl of unflavored rice in front of you, the only place you were going to end up was going to be down at the docks out on the trawlers dragging in fish nets and gutting the catch for others to enjoy. Advancement was never encouraged, although dreams were always there to keep the spirit alive, it would in the end be crushed with the harsh slap of reality.

Itachi must have been the only child in his year that was actually excited when mandatory schooling started, eager to get in there to find something to fill the void in his life of what he thought was missing, thinking that it could be found within education. Then once again that harsh reality kicked in when he arrived with missing school books and second hand copies, mocked and ridiculed by kids and frowned down upon secretly by teachers when they had to put in the extra work to make copies of the pages he needed to see him up to speed with the rest. Most of them were in the same boat as him, their parents worked out on the land or sea spending countless hours in manual labor only bringing home a petty wage but they chose to target him. Maybe that was because he did not fight back about it. Itachi just accepted it as life but it still did not squash the dream inside of his head that he wanted to bring true.

He was going to find a way to get a decent job where he could provide for his parents and brother so they would not have to suffer anymore.

His mother would tell him stories to help promote that dream, that not all people born into the Uchiha family were dirty poor. There was one group that were highly successful at what they did, so much that they had moved away from the cramped, smog filled life of Japan to lead more of a productive life in America. He had no idea if it was true or not or if it was just a morality booster given by Mikoto to let him know that there was more out there than this but Itachi held her word and wanted to strive to be like them. If they could do it then so could he. He had no clue about any Uchiha outside of them, not even knowing if he had uncles and aunts even, whoever they were, he hoped that he could set the example based from them and free everyone from this hell.

Not everyone held the same standard as he did to succeed, some were out for the quick fix.

That was when the men showed up. It did not take a genius to work out that there was something suspicious to why them of all people out of the village, was chosen for something so prestigious and life changing. Why were they offered the opportunity where there were others who could fulfill the position? To be given the chance to go over to America to learn to study and work, to give them the chances that they would miss out on in their current living state. That dream seemed to good to be true.

His first thought was of that family in America that might have heard about them and been some kind of good Samaritan but that was quickly dismissed. As a twelve year old, he could tell that there was something nefarious about them. Maybe it be mannerisms, the way they were noticing their young delicate looks although being put through working on the land with their parents, the particular attention being put to Sasuke with him being offered the chance to go alone. It didn't sit right with Itachi.
