F.A.Q
1] How do we know what's going on outside of Hogwarts?-->Very easy. Your lovely mods will be posting up a Daily Prophet (though, don't expect it to be daily) that will inform the characters about what's happening in the outside world.
2] Where are we in the school year?-->This is real time, so if it's February 19th in the real world (your world), then it's February 19th in their world.
3] I go to school and have enough homework... Do we have to do any here?-->This is a two part question. Sometimes when we have players who have a professor as a character, they will assign homework that your character must do. In that case, it's your character's choice. However, the mods might also randomly assign homework that you as a player will have to complete. This homework isn't supposed to be easy, it's supposed to challenge you to think deep about your character.
4] I really disagree with what a character/mod/player is doing. How to I complain without everybody labeling me as a bitch?-->Every week or so, we will be putting out a post where you can reply anonymously to. In this post, you can complain or praise or offer suggestions until you burst. Just please don't be too rude; this is for constructive criticism more than anything else. If you're confused about this, ask the mods about what you want to say. Whatever it is will be in confidence and we will not tell anybody that it was you.

U.S.-> I go to a/the university.
U.K.-> I go to university.
[You don't have to follow this. All instances cannot leave out these words, but if you find that it might sound better, go for it.]
