- their stories are taking place in real time, meaning you're living in 2008, and so are they. therefore, today's pop culture, news headlines, etc. do apply to the setting. the average age is 24, and considering that there is only one "grade" available for play, that means all characters will have been born during the 1983-1984 school year.

- no, there is no limit to the amount of characters you are allowed. or update deadlines. or plot regulation (you know not to blow up the castle without asking politely). ATF is purely for fun, a little something for you to enjoy in your free time. we plan on keeping it that way for a very long time.

- this game is considered AU. the epilogue of Deathly Hallows should be treated as if it doesn't exist, though information written prior is considered valid.

-because they're so highly developed, the trio ( and consequently all other age groups for the time being ) are unavailable for play. this is subject to change as more characters become involved in the game.

- those taboo subjects ( drugs, sex, rock 'n roll ) are allowed here, just keep them under cuts.

- this game has no communities. all interactions are to be posted in your respective character journals, with the subject line specifying whether or not it is a thread, owl, ooc post, or just plain old journal entry.

- after suffering the negative effects of the purist views of death eaters and pureblood society in general, the new political leaders of the post-voldemort era went to the opposite extreme, enforcing strict limitations on the use of magic at the behest of world leaders, especially following related incidents that had occurred in the muggle realm.

- since, the magical community has been encouraged toward a greater acceptance of muggle culture. an example of this is the incorporation of muggle technology. through advanced charms work, electronic devices such as cellphones and computers have been made wizard-friendly.

- along with such diffusion, however, came the expansion of the rift between purebloods and non-purebloods. once upon a time seated at the top of the social structure, they have since been outcasted by the muggleborn/mixed majority. in spite of the fact that an overwhelming number of them were, in fact, not death eaters, they are generally dismissed as racists and crooks. it is believed that this may have done more harm than good, as formerly conservative purebloods now have more incentive than ever to adopt radical points of view due to their being "pushed out of existence" by inter-breeding and social stigma. prejudices are high on both sides.

- this game is about players having fun. you have pretty free reign on your plots ( although any major deaths or.. y'know.. building destructions, world domination plots and what not should be cleared through the mods ).
