Susan Bones
"Science is a very human form of knowledge. We are always at the brink of the known, we always feel forward for what is to be hoped. Every judgment in science stands on the edge or error, and is personal. Science is a tribute to what we can know although we are fallible. We have to cure ourselves of the itch for absolute knowledge and power. We have to close the distance between the push-button order and the human act. We have to touch people. " - Jacob Bronowski
Residence: Switzerland
Religion: Science (not to be confused with Scientology)
Status: Single
Occupation: Research Assistant, temporarily suspended
Lives With: A couple hundred witches and wizards in a huge dormitory
In A Nutshell:
Lavender Brown
"Everyone has the obligation to ponder well his own specific traits of character. He must also regulate them adequately and not wonder whether someone else's traits might suit him better. The more definitely his own a man's character is, the better it fits him." - Cicero
Residence: 4 Dumbledore Lane, Rhetoric Alley, London
Religion: Spiritual, Non-Practicing
Status: Divorced from Terry Boot
Occupation: Owner and Baker of Crayola Confections
Lives With: A fern named Fluffy and a tomato plant called Sal
In A Nutshell: All you need is love. Well, that's what Lavender Brown has always wanted to believe. Since her youth she has been an avid reader of romance novel, by both muggle and wizard author alike. Perhaps it has spoiled her perceptions a bit. It has certainly given her commitment issues, or at least, that's what she likes to blame said issues on. Subsequently, her longest relationship was with Terry Boot, whom she divorced just over two years ago. And after months of some serious serial dating, Ven has ceased romantic entanglements altogether. Even her flirtatious nature has calmed. And so it has been for the past year and a half. She spends a lot of time working now, getting ready to open her bakery in Diagon Alley. And the nights are spent in the little flat in Rhetoric Alley, watching movies with Neville, or curled up with one of those damned books she still loves.
Gregory Goyle
"Mistakes are a part of being human. Appreciate your mistakes for what they are: precious life lessons that can only be learned the hard way. Unless it's a fatal mistake, which, at least, others can learn from." - Al Franken
Residence: 99 Alabastor Place, Knockturn Alley, London
Religion: None
Status: Single
Occupation: Bodyguard
Lives With: The rats in his building
In A Nutshell: Greg is not very good at thinking for himself. He tends to rely on the advice of people much smarter than him ( which is just about everyone he meets ), and so without the influence of Vince and Draco, he wasn't exactly sure what to do with himself. His strengths lie in random acts of violence, destruction of property, and eating - none of which qualified him for a decent job. With the death of his father, the ministry confiscated most of the artifacts within his family home, his mother and older sister claimed the house itself, and Gregory was left with a small, rather dilapidated building on the corner of Knockturn Alley and Diagon Alley. While not exactly made for comfort, the small building has served as both home ( on the second floor ) and office for his budding bodyguard service for the past three years. While his customers are generally children that he has persuaded to take his services, he has had a few legitimate contracts, mostly from small-time crime lords looking to collect on a missed payment.
Neville Longbottom
