Brief History:Russell King was born to parents Russell Sr. and Brianne on September 11th, 1987. He was a healthy baby boy, who never caused much trouble. He hardly cried, and he was very cooperative, and didn’t even throw many tantrums as a toddler. If you knew him before the age of 10, you wouldn’t believe that he’s still the same person. By that point in his life, he had discovered his much fun it was to actually
talk to people, and participate in group activities. He was always a welcome addition to any group, because of his suddenly altered fun, and outgoing personality, but also because he was incredibly smart. At least, he was when it came to math. Every other subject was a bit of a struggle for him, but he was always in high honors math classes. He even passed calculus with an A. Neither one of his parents knew where this skill came from, since neither of them ever excelled in the subject of Math. His father is a construction worker, and his Mom works at the local hospital, as a nurse.
After the age of 10, as stated before, Russ was always looking for new people to hang out with. He became fairly popular pretty quickly, but found that his best friend would turn out to be none other than Cove Braddock, a student who was a grade above him in school. They bonded over music during one of their free periods in middle school, 7th grad to be specific, after being introduced to each other by a mutual friend. By this point in his life, Russell had already been playing the guitar for about…6 years, since he had been given the instrument on his 6th birthday. It was a bit awkward, for the (at the time) skinny, quiet boy to get his arms to feel comfortable holding the large guitar, but eventually he grew into it. Music was another thing he excelled at, but more importantly, it was something he
loved. There wasn’t a day that passed when the kid didn’t pick up the old Epiphone DR-100 and practice. He trained himself, and learned by ear, but he was always very good at picking songs up quickly. He can’t read music very well, but if someone played the notes for him, he would be able to play it back almost exactly.
His friendship with Cove turned out to be a help and a hindrance, all at the same time. The older boy introduced him to a little lady named ‘Mary Jane’ when he was in 10th grade, and Russell had never felt more…free. It took him one or two times to actually feel anything, but when he did, he loved it. He was calm, and relaxed, and felt like he was even more a part of his music when he played. It was like, he was
in the music. Thankfully, even though this became somewhat of a daily routine for him (he wasn’t working at the time, it was hard to afford it), his grades remained pretty steady. He fell asleep in a few classes, during his senior year, but that was about the worst of it. He was offered harder drugs, many times, but always declined.
After he graduated high school, because of his excellent math scores on the SAT’s, he got a scholarship to a local college. With this under his belt, he decided that he could probably afford to move out of his parents house, and moved in with Cove and a bunch of the other guys from their band. He was 18 at the time. Fresh out of high school and already going for a degree in accounting, he got a job at the local Jet Ski shop, ‘Jets Ki’, as a bookkeeper. No one ever expects Russell to have the job that he has, so in a way he has sort of a Clark Kent thing going on…nerd by day (did I mention he likes Comic Books, too?), stoner and rock star by night.
While Russell wants to believe that he’ll go far with his music career, and enjoys playing more than…
anything, he wants to know he has something to fall back on, if things don’t work out like he hopes they will. He’s close to graduating with his degree from college, and after that, he hopes to take some time off to work on music, while keeping his job at the shop.
Brief Description of Power Capabilities: Russell is able to control electronic devices through the power of thought. He 'communicates' with technology, and is able to do things such as scroll, type, and hack into computers without touching them, and change the channel on the television simply by blinking his eyes. He doesn't know the limits of his powers just yet.
