Character Name: Joshua ‘Josh’ Casey
Character LJ (if applicable): http://www.scribbld.net/users/healingbug/
Physical description (face, build, weight): Josh is an attractive young man. He stands at about six feet tall even and has an athletic build. He shows excellent definition and muscle structure and weighs in at about 160lbs. His hair is blond and he keeps it in a short, neat cut. He’s usually got a nice tan but not a very noticeable one.
Age: 16
Birthday: October 1st
Codename (if using one): Lifeforce
PB: (If using one.) Trevor Donovan
Abilities:
-Enhanced Body: Josh’s body is naturally at peak human conditioning thanks to his powers. He could easily compete with Olympic Athletes in strength, agility, dexterity, speed, and reflexes. He still needs to work out to remain in practice but he’s always in peak condition.
-Healing: Joshua is able to direct incredibly powerful healing energies into a desired target or targets. There are no natural wounds and maladies he can't handle. Scrapes and cuts can be healed in fractions of seconds, more severe wounds taking longer. Illnesses and afflictions are easily removed. Curses, brain damage, nerve damage, and magical afflictions are also within Josh's ability to heal but take more time. Mentally and Spiritually inflicted damages are also within Joshua's ability to repair but require more time and power to restore until Josh can better understand the nature of the problem. The restoration of lost limbs is another of Josh's abilities. This is much easier for him if the severed limb is present, but he's capable of 'regrowing' new ones for victims. This process is very draining and requires a lot of concentration and thus is not the preferred method of doing things. It's far easier for Josh to regrow a missing organ than a limb. Things such as genetic damage, psionically inflicted damage, and mystical damage also takes more effort to repair but is still within his scope of ability. Josh's healing ability has a range of just under ten feet, affording him a twenty foot diameter of influence when using his abilities at full blast. The healing is most effective at a range of about one foot or when Josh makes physical contact with who he intends to heal. He's got enough charge to run his powers at maximum range at full intensity for eighteen hours without growing tired, however at the end of that period he'd require twenty-four hours of rest before being able to become active again. His powers usually manifest as a white glow but can sometimes take on the appearance of white flames, usually when Joshua is angry or when he's using a particularly intense amount of power.
-Regeneration: Josh recovers from injuries at an incredible rate of speed. He's not immune or especially resistant to damage, just healing from it. A broken bone would heal in seconds, cuts and scrapes vanish before even getting chance to register, and Joshua would even recover from a bullet to the head within a few minutes. He'd even keep going through several bullets to the chest. This healing ability doesn't just apply to physical damage, regenerating even mystical or psionically inflicted damages. Even genetic damages and transformations will be recovered from eventually. Joshua does have a high pain tolerance but he's not immune to it and can be slowed down with well placed or sufficient amounts of damage. This healing factor has also slowed Joshua's aging incredibly. Roughly, five years for a normal person is one for Joshua. This ability also makes Joshua virtually immune to toxins, drugs, poisons, and the like. It would take an incredibly large does even to affect him temporarily and his system would purge it quickly. Alcohol and tattoos are also quickly purged must like any implants. Medical procedures such as the removal of his tonsils were also undone by this ability. Joshua can also regrow a lost limb should he lose one. While he'd much rather just pick up a severed limb and reattach it, as it is in his abilities to do so, he sometimes just can't do that. He'll just have to wait for the limb to regrow. He's even able to recover lost eyes with this ability. A little perk of this power is that Josh's teeth are always in good condition.
-Life Detection: All living things generate a type of energy. Josh has the ability to detect this unique energy type. He can sense any living thing within an eight mile radius. This power allows Josh to know where living things are, what species of being they might be, and if they're coming closer or getting farther away. Since every being has their own unique 'life signature' he, can even track targets. It's very difficult to escape this sense. Simply not living (robots, being dead) is one way to escape this ability every time. Also, causing a death will send a jolt that'll throw this sense off for a few moments and possibly incapacitate Josh depending on the suddenness, volume, and violence of the death(s). This power also allows Josh to sense the general condition of a life, such as if it’s sick or fading or in pain. Typically his range is only a couple hundred miles but if he has time to sit, concentrate, and focus he can sense farther and more clearly.
-Martial Arts: Thanks to several years of training, Josh knows martial arts. He’s a competent fighter, able to handle at least three opponents of equal skill and hold his own. He can fight hand to hand or use a few weapons.

Weaknesses and flaws: Josh doesn’t have much in the way of offensive capabilities and could prove a weak link in a fight. As the son of a super villain, and one that’s an out and out psychopathic murderer and not just a crook, Josh may have to deal with a lot of mistrust. He may also face pressure from other villains to follow in his father’s footsteps. He’s got secret ID and happens to be homeless. If his father ever learned he existed, Josh might have to deal with the old man coming after him. Josh can’t swim so if he falls in the water he’ll need a rescue.

Character location/Home: None (Currently Homeless and wandering)

Alignment (villain, hero etc): Hero

Team: None yet but hopes to join the YJLA

Relatives (living/dead?): David Hersch (aka Cicada, Father, alive but on Death Row) and Miranda Casey (Mother, dead)

Backstory: Joshua Casey grew up never knowing his father. His mother Miranda had fallen in with the Cicada cult in her younger days. She killed a few people and earned the favor of the cult’s leader, the Flash-worshiping villain known as Cicada. She spent several nights with the man and his inner circle, eventually getting pregnant. Before the cult could learn about this, she was arrested while trying to murder someone the Flash had rescued.
Josh was born in prison but they weren’t going to release his mother as she was in for life. The baby was turned over to his grandparents. The young man had a hard time in school because people often teased him about his ‘crazy prison mom’. As such, he didn’t have many friends. He was a bit strange too, never seeming to get sick and never seeming to get hurt no matter what happened to him. He was often bullied by other students and as a result started to take martial arts lessons to defend himself that continued for years.
When Josh was about to enter high school, he became much more curious about his lack of a father. He went to visit his mother in prison and only managed to get one bit of information out of her. Go to Keystone City. Shortly after this visit, Josh’s mother was killed by another prisoner. The young man tried to get his elderly grandparents to let him go to Keystone City but they refused to.
On the way home from the funeral, there was a car wreck. And while Josh’s metahuman powers saved him, his grandparents weren’t very lucky. The driver of the other car was however. Before he thought much about it, Josh healed the man.
The next few days were pretty chaotic, Josh bouncing back and forth between different places that were supposed to keep an eye on him until he managed to lie and say an aunt was going to come stay with him at his grandparent’s house. Josh started going through his mother’s old things when he got home. He found a name and a journal with a strange symbol on it. Inside were some ramblings about the Flash and a man named David Hersch.
Josh packed up his stuff and decided he would go to Keystone City himself instead of ending up in the Foster Care system. Buying a bus ticket, he was nervous the whole trip across a few states. When he finally arrived, Josh was rather excited. He started his search at the Flash Museum. What he found wasn’t good. The name David Hersch led to information on the super villain known as Cicada and the cult he led. Josh left the museum and went to the Library to look through the news papers. He was even more horrified by what he found out there.
Josh spent the whole night awake in his motel room, trying to figure out if he was going to be no better than either of his parents. Both psychopaths and murderers. The thought of becoming a super villain even came to mind but he dismissed it. He thought about his strange powers and what they did and came to a conclusion. He was going to use his abilities but for good. He’d be one of those superheroes and make up for all the damage his parents did or at least try to.

The next morning, Josh went and bought a paintball mask, some gloves, and a hooded sweatshirt. He had no idea where the heroes got their costumes so he just settled on that. And since his money was running low, he turned to hitchhiking. The young man started his way across the country, helping out where he could when he could be it by healing the injured and sick or putting some hurt on the bad guys.

How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: No concrete plans just yet. He could be sought out for his healing abilities by someone. Or perhaps mistaken for a villain in a situation he stepped in to stop. Or he could even get rescued/backed up if someone from the Injustice Society comes to try to forcibly convince him to join up with them.

What are you planning to do with this character?: I am hoping to have Josh join up with the YJLA and further his goal of making up for all the harm his father caused over the many years he was alive. I’m going to have him try to be as helpful as he can be to the heroes. I am also hoping to have Josh try to make some actual friends among the heroes.

What do you want to see happen with this character?: I’d like to see this character get a proper costume and make some actual friends. I’d also like to see him get better at being a hero. I’d also like to see the Injustice Society try to draw him over to their side as he’s the son of a villain. It would be great for him to interact with members of the Flash Family eventually and perhaps even confront his father or members of the Cicada cult.

Please include a sample post/scene:
Josh frowns at the cat that darted out of his grip and then looks down at his arms. He never ceases to be amazed watching himself heal. There was just something about watching a cut close itself back up that he couldn’t tear his eyes away from. Even if it does creep him out sometimes, Josh always watches when he can. Once the scratches vanished, he wipes the blood away with some tissues from his pocket and sits down in the grass.
“Man,” the young man sighs as he leans back against the tree behind him. “Heal up a hurt cat only to get my arm cut open. I wonder if the Green Lantern has days like this,” he muses, eyes to the sky.
“Oh well. Gotta keep going,” he says. He pauses half way off the ground though just to feel a breeze blow past. “Ya know what? I think I’ll take a nap first,” he declares, leaning back and putting his arms behind his head.
A few moments later, something occurs to him. “Who the heck am I even talking to?”
